@AHousefather @lise_george I don’t see how it’s inappropriate. Inconvenient, sure. But not inappropriate. And it’s likely that they chose that location for a reason, not just because it’s a synagogue. Is there something else you’d like to share with us? Is the synagogue openly supporting the genocide?

@JustinRosatiMD Since blind children don't have speech delays I don't see the logic. Speech acquisition is tied to hearing not sight. And even if speech heard through a mask is slightly muffled during the 8 hours they spend in daycare kids hear unmasked adult speech at home.

@MeetJess @Jennings18Karl It seems more likely that she has a chronic infection than that she has had 9 separate infections in 10 months. It's rare but it happens. And would mean she has an undiagnosed immune deficiency. Testing negative in between doesn't mean it isn't chronic.

@singingsox @quarantinebeat I haven't eaten indoors at any restaurants since 2019. In addition to guarding my own health, I'm consciously boycotting restaurants and businesses that refuse to advocate for or adopt common sense safety precautions.

@maosbot I always say when asked that "I don't want to get sick." Which is the truth. But the question almost always comes from anti-maskers who play down the seriousness of infection to justify their choice, so it WOULD be interesting to say I have Covid to see the reaction. 🤔

If you are looking for surgical respirators to buy at a physical location I was just in @LondonDrugs and saw they are selling Vitacore N95s and N99s. And there were more staff and customers wearing respirators in that store than I have seen anywhere else in my city. Thanks, LD!

@Lisa_C_Ford Yes, that might lead to more Long Covid. But athletes also seem (anecdotally) to often be hit hard during the acute infection. Perhaps exercising before they realize/confirm that they are infected? But why would exercise so significantly exacerbate the illness?

@oldfshndanne They go together like peanut butter and jam. Even if air quality is improved, masks will still be needed for close contact transmission and where people are vulnerable. For example, air quality is often good on hospital wards but Covid still spreads in hospitals.

👀 BCers!!! COVID isn't managed the same way across the country. Nova Scotia offers PCR tests for the public! NS offers early treatment (e.g. Paxlovid) for the public! NS has mobile public health units offering RATS, PCR tests and immunizations! The BCNDP don't care about you.

@boredmtnester @ejessicajohnson If it was a PCR test then it might be leftover RNA fragments but this is an antigen test. If it has been 18 days since the confirmed end of her last infection then this is highly likely to be a new infection. And that's quite the vivid result, suggesting a high viral load.
