2 months ago. My father died of cancer.
The 15th of March at exactly 20:28.
I received a message from my brother in law:
"Yo man. Don't shock. I'm in the ambulance right now with your dad towards the hospital."
Me: "What's going on?"
He: "He can't breath. Chest pain."
CONT
I would like to say in Dutch: "Bedankt ouwe."
Meaning: "Thanks old man."
I know you fucked up a lot of things. And you did your utmost best to correct all your mistakes.
I appreciate your for all the good and bad stuff.
After all. You were only human.
At that moment I realized. That the torch had been handed over.
His era came to an end. And it's my time to support the next generation.
It's my time to learn from the good and bad he had done.
To become a better man. Like he had envisioned.
And for the first time.
He had just battled cancer for a whole year.
Pumped full with chemo.
Back pain. Lungs burning. Scratching himself until he bled. Mental irrationality because the chemo fucked him up.
It hurt me more to see my mom crying.
But my dad.. he could finally rest.
was the shell of what used to be my dad.
Body still a slight blush. But no soul to be found.
Just a husk of what he used to be.
I didn't feel sadness. Nor pain. Just pure calm and rationality.
And you know why?
Because he could rest.
I just learned a crucial thing about myself;
I NEED more exercise.
I don't like it. It sucks.
But my mind needs it.
The more physically tired I am,
the better my mind works.
It leaves you with 0 fuel to think negatively.
All you can do is take effective action.

3. Walk 45 min during lunch break🚶♂️
4. Only take the stairs at work↗️
5. Only water🥤, only coffee☕️ between 8-12am
6. Meditate 2x a day 🧘♂️

If your life is shit. It's because of 2 simple things.
1. Environment
2. Responsibility
I've met many people.
Super wealthy and dirt poor.
I've met:
- wealthy miserable people
- poor miserable people
- wealthy happy people
- poor happy people
So here's how you become happy🧵
Your body is the strongest chemical factory available to you.
Yet you choose to do drugs.
If you only knew how to be high on life. You'd never need any drugs.
Weed? Useless.
Alcohol? Useless.
Cigarettes? Useless.
Party drugs? Useless.
Psychedelics? Useless.
Here's 3 tips to get into spirituality:
1. Your own path.
Spirituality is personal. Dont let anybody tell you otherwise.
2. Explore.
Some things work and some dont. Extract what works, drop the rest.
3. Stop searching.
The right path comes to you. Its not something you choose.
"Thanks for letting me know man. I'll be right there."
"Please drive safely!"
"I've a family to live for. Of course."
Everything went in slow motion from then on.
I arrived, met with my in-law, his kids and my sister.
Hugged my mom.
And there...
Just as I stopped at the gas station for a quick bio break.
My phone rang again..
It was my in-law. Before he said anything I knew what was up:
"Hey man, park the car first."
I stopped.
"Listen, don't panic. Your dad just passed away."
I sighed deeply. A calm came over me.

Me: "Damn man. Should I come or wait?"
He: "Wait."
Later he called me. Told me that the doctors were positive.
They had send my mom and in-law back home.
I didn't think too much about it, but I had a weird feeling.
I went to bed, woke up the next morning and went to work.
Christians shouldn't do yoga because Hindus worship a snake god???
1. Yoga is not a religion.
2. Hinduism is not a religion.
3. We believe in Jesus Christ.
4. We don't believe in snake gods.
5. Get your facts checked before you spout your nonsense, fool.
Here's 3 idea's to uplift your life.
1. Stop watching TV📺
You don't need the news. If it's really important, you'll hear about it outdoors.
2. A walk in nature🌳
Green colors are good for you. And so is fresh air and walking.
3. Sit still🧘♂️
Eyes closed. Just observe yourself.
I was at work just 47 minutes and I received a call.. private number.
I thought: "Ah fuck..." It was my in-law:
"Hey man get over here, just in case."
Me: "Alright, I'm on my way."
I got in the car. It's about a 1.5 hour drive to get there.
I almost gave up today.
The greatest tool available to men.. the mind.
Got a hold of me.
Thoughts going in a downward spiral.
Thinking all the negativity it could.
Finding all the reasons why I shouldn't.
Until I realized what mattered most.

To all new followers. Welcome.

To assist you in deciding if you want to hang around, here's 3 actionable steps to get started:

We are so fixated on science that we tend to ignore the signals of our own bodies.
We believe science knows our body better than our body does.
What insanity is this?
My sleep has been horrible.
Ever since I became a father 1 year ago, sleep had been my main concern.
I underperformed in work, the gym and I was easily angered.
Here's 3 changes that helped me get back on track.
THREAD
You'll become lethargic if you splurge on the luxuries of life.
Don't get me wrong.
I smoke cigars.
I love chocolate.
I like a sweet drink.
But I WORK to EARN it.
If I don't work out, I don't deserve it.
Keep your life balanced.
BOOM!🔥🔥🔥
Just got to a milestone! 200 followers!!!
Thanks, everyone, for the support.

I'm going on a 72-hour fast.
My vedic birthday this year is on the 31st of May.
This day specifically is called Nirjala Ekadashi.
It is the only day in the year, where a dry fast in done. And I happen to be born on that day.
PLAN:
24hr waterfast
24hr dryfast
24hr waterfast
@SurvivorsPath
When you think about it.
This is quite easy to achieve.
Walking 30 mins.
Reading 5 pages.
Meditation 10 mins.
Just a measly 60 minutes at the most.
Yet we spend hours on our phones.
Today I had a chat with myself.
I asked questions:
Why did I start on this journey?
What am I doing it for?
It's a great thing to remind yourself the importance of your mission.
Blow some wind on your embers and make it burn!
Everything you read online is recycled.
There's truly nothing new to be said.
The only reason why it's still fruitful to keep sharing your wisdom,
is because it might resonate better with others in your words.
This old man was sitting all alone drinking an espresso..
while my family and I were having a cup or coffee at an orangery-café.
He was looking for an authentic connection, so we had a chat.
SHORT STORY🧵
Being alone is the best thing you can gift yourself.
It allows for:
-introspection
-appreciation
-connection
-recharging
-reflection
-serenity
-silence
-love
All the good things life has to offer.
What do you get out of being alone?
Parenthood is NOT the ultimate sacrifice.
Your child is not a mad god, to which you sacrifice your life.
Your child is a possibility.
An endless possibility that you can support by doing one simple thing.
By becoming a possibility yourself.
I am totally lost sometimes.
There are days like today,
where my mind just isn't present at the present.
Thoughts go rampant.
Emotions kick in and disappointment arises.
A multitude of situations.
Imaginations without meaning.
Why am I like this?
How can I solve this?
THREAD
In order to grow you have to kill yourself.
(Metaphorically speaking)
It's all about killing off who you don't want to be. Become less, not more.
The least you are, the more possibilities there are for growth. Just like a child.
You should eat less.
Probably.
Most people above 30 eat too much.
You can easily eat 2 meals and still maintain weight.
To give you perspective about my life:
- Workout 4-5× a week
- Yoga 2-3x a week
- 2 meals a day
- Vegetarian
Stop being addicted to food.
Are you incapable of meditation or prayer?
More often than not, you're probably lazy, too.
Most god loving people I know are super fit!
Why is that?
Because if your body is tired, you will naturally turn inward.
Prayer and meditation will come naturally.
I'm not always happy and grateful.
It's not a skill I learned from an early age.
For 24 years I lived in a very negative household.
For 6 years I had to rewire myself. Failing and learning again.
The last 3 years I've gotten a lot better.
I'm still learning!
Don't give up!
Above 30 and low on energy?
Here's 3 tips!
MEAL FREQUENCY
You dont need more than 2 meals if youre not living a very active lifestyle.
RESET
Daily meditation allows your brain to stop and rest.
ACTIVITY
Incorporate more activity wherever you are.
Go take care of yourself!
I am not a Christian, but this one is for my Christian brothers.
I know that this quote exactly describes what is coming to me:
"Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me."
Diets are total BS.
Carnivores saying veggies kill.
Vegans calling others murderers.
And everything in between.
Whatever "science" you've read. It's all facts until it isn't.
Can certain diets heal you? Yes. Temporarily.
Learn to listen to your body. Work from that.
My mother asked me:
"I have €1000 for you. Do you want to donate it to children in India or buy wedding rings for you and your wife?"
I looked at my mom and said: "What the hell do you think I am?" "Donate to the children in India of course!"
Let me explain why:
@SurvivorsPath
Living a holistic live is a must for everyone.
Now spirituality I would never categorize as a hobby, but what's your view on it?
Do you view this as a necessity for becoming a whole human?
Ever since I became a father,
I've had trouble finding balance between family and working for your family.
I believe the time you spend with family isn't as important as the intensity.
I prefer short but intense moments over long and disengaged.
How do you approach this?
You have ZERO excuses for not being fit.
There are athletes out there with only 1 arm, ONE!
Some even have NONE! And they are more fit than you are!
Do you have a 9-5, generic and basic life like me?
GREAT! Read this!
Don't preach about god to the hungry.
To them, their god is in food.
As for the wealthy.
God is in riches.
But once all is sated.
God is all there is left.
STOP PLEASING OTHERS!
You're only making it more difficult for them and for yourself.
Why?
Because nobody likes a pleaser that's in a bad mood, because they didn't choose for themselves.
It's annoying and draining.
Go do you and stay honest and true.
You can't get help if you haven't set a standard for yourself.
Can't earn money?
Can't pay for help.
Can't get yourself to workout?
Can't get jacked.
Can't love yourself?
Can't receive love.
Set higher standards. Nobody wants to help a loser.
It's 5:20 am, and I'm pissed off.
Sick and tired of seeing others gain success through consistency.
Sick and tired of not being one of them.
Sick and tired of being sick and tired.
I want change. Now.
"I wish I was able to do that." He said.
How often have I heard these words before?
Ever since I announced that I will migrate, I've almost heard it daily.
"What's stopping you from pursuing that dream?" I asked.
"You know... stable job, don't have to worry about money."
Here's 5 mantra's to change your perspective:
1. This moment is inevitable, it cannot be any other way.
2. I am not this body, I am not this mind.
3. My responsibilities are limitless.
4. I am a mother to this world.
5. All the rules, are my rules.
Please, try it.
When presented with the situation of having to make a choice.
Stop, wait and think.
Don't just say yes because you feel obligated.
Nothing feels worse than having to go back on your word.
Give yourself room to think.
"I need to think about it."
Is also an answer.
I quit relying solely on logic.
My solution is to stop being the boring logical person.
I don’t:
- want to go into fruitless discussions.
- want to listen to every single thought.
- want to use my brain to dissect everything.
- want to stop listening to what my gut tells me.
I started posting on Twitter to earn money.
In order to provide for my family and help others.
While I love exploring this community.
There's something holding me back.
Let me explain...

My wife was a bit frustrated. She didn't like that I was tweeting before doing my yoga.
So I told her I'd be busy for 1.5 hours.
She became even more frustrated.
Then I walked away and laughed.
She laughed too and called me an asshole. 😂
Married life 🤷♂️
Most of the people I see in the gym are sick.
You might be strong, but honestly, if you can't:
- touch your toes
- rest squatting
- sit croslegged
You are soon in for a big mess.
In this cosmos, our galaxy is a small happening.
In the Milky Way, this solar system is a speck.
In that speck, Earth is a super-tiny speck.
In that, your city is a micro-tiny speck.
In that speck, you are a big man!
That is a big problem.
-Sadhguru
I wake up at 5:00 am every day.
I haven't missed a single day in the last 2 years.
It's the sole reason why my life is amazing.
And you know what I do first thing after waking up?
Turn my fucking alarm off and go back to sleep till 8.
You can't always perform at your best.
There are moments where you'll feel:
- sick
- tired
- reluctant
- uncertain
- frustrated
It's not about giving 100%
It's about:
- trusting the process
- staying consistent
- having faith
- showing up
Today I was blamed for asking a day off moments before work.
My colleague's didn't dare say no and wanted to confront me on said matter.
So I decided to figure out where the problem laid...
🧵
It feels horrible.
To not be able to keep yourself accountable.
To not believe in your own words or to make them reality.
If you find yourself in this situation.
You might wonder. What can I do?
Here's 3 steps that work for me:
I went from active on X tot non-active.
That in repeat for about 3-4 times.
Now I'm back, and my engagement tanked to 0.
Makes a lot of sense.
I've a system, but not a gameplan yet, and this is essential to succeed.
The next week I'll be focused on finding my gameplan.
Most bosses don't give a damn about you.
How do I know?
If you have personal KPIs to meet that don't include internal well-being and happiness.
Then my point has been made.
You can learn a lot from failure.
As you can learn a lot from success.
It's not about winning or losing.
It's about showing up and giving 100%.
It's better to give 100% and fail,
than to be an indolent loser.
Go experience both.
Speaking the truth is a double-edged sword.
First people will like you for your honesty.
But once you say something that challenges their frame, they turn on you.
Ah well.
@StringReveals
Thank you for everything you're doing, brother.
I'm curious.
Have you any English books that you would recommend reading?
I would like to deepen my knowledge regarding to Dharma.
"What more is there to say?"
Is something I often wonder.
Because let's be honest.
Everything has been said already.
You just need to find the truth within which can not be described by words.
I am not the failure who I used to be.
Currently on a 72-hour fast🥤
No coffee after 12:00am☕️
Walk 45 minutes daily🚶♂️
Workout 3-4× a week🏋️♂️
I stopped smoking🫁
I stopped drinking🍺
Meditate daily🧘♂️
Yoga daily🕉️
If I can, you can too.
Don't give up!

Our lives are fake.
We consume food contaminated with synthetics.
We watch fake media about fabricated lives.
We stuff our women with synthetic materials for fake beauty.
We wear cheap synthetic clothing to hide our financial insecurities.
No wonder your life is fucked.
Most people can't be alone.
They'd go absolutely crazy.
Doesn't make sense, does it?
At the very least, shouldn't you be okay with yourself?
Shouldn't you be able to enjoy life with no one around you?
RESPONSIBILITY
Take responsibility for everything in your life.
Your wife, children, work, spirituality, EVERYTHING!
I'm not telling you to but your head into everything.
I'm telling you to look at your response to the world.
Now, consciously choose how you respond.
Plain sex is mediocre.
If you focus solely on your biology; sex, pornography, masturbation, looks, etc.
You're going to miss the immense possibility life has to offer.
Screw the hustle and money culture.
Do we need money? Yes.
But don't act like it's the only thing.
The only rich who have a great life being rich are the ones who have a higher goal beyond the money.
GM
My mom's staying at my place today.
She's sleeping in the living room.
My wife and son are sleeping in the bedroom.
So I'm stuck in the hallway, waiting for someone to wake up.
...
What has my life become...
Social judgement is inescapable.
If you never share what you truly believe.
You'll never be able to challenge your own, nor others their belief.
Here's a quick guide in how to tackle that.
🧵
I'm in war with my 1.5 y/o son.
I barely survived with 2 scratches on my forehead.
We fought for an age-old trophy, a woman.
In this case, it was a special woman.
For me, she's called wife, for him, mother.
Today he won, you little bastard.
You can be your own medicine.
Have you ever examined your behavior while eating?
In a rush?
Barely chewing?
Tired after eating?
Become more conscious and try this:
No talking
No water during
Prayer before food
Chew at least 24 times
It can make a world of a difference.
Showing up.
Just one post.
Just one comment.
Because that stuff matters? NO!
Because these are important steps.
Steps that I need to make to reach a goal.
The goal to be able to support others and my family.
To be able to get there. To proof myself that I can provide.
GM
In exactly 130 days from now.
My life will never be the same.
I'm excited and scared at the same time.
I'll have a new home.
A new country.
New people.
It will tear me down completely and build me back up again.
All I can do. Is have faith.
Note to self:
Don't leave open the bathroom door.
My 1 y/o son likes cleaning the toilet pot with the toilet brush.
Great idea, just horrible execution.
Controlling your thoughts is a waste of energy.
Instead.
Focus on how you respond to them.
Are you compulsory or conscious?
Take FULL responsibility for your actions.
Choose wisely on which thoughts you follow up.
It will shape who you become.
There are moments, where you wish you knew the answer.
It's okay. It's okay not to know the answer to something.
It's the first step to figuring it out.
Stuck and unsure where to begin?
Find 1 system from someone who is 2 steps ahead of you.
Follow that system for 1 month.
You'll learn a lot in that timespan.
After 1 month, evaluate and adjust accordingly.
@yogicmindset
I've never timed it, so I just did it now.
Seems like I'm on 6-7 times per minute.
Are there any things we can learn from rates below 12?
For example, if you inhale longer than exhale.
