@gorgeousbrains We are in a climate crisis. The very least you can do is not waste energy. You will be fine if your thermostat is set to 80° in summer and 60° in winter. Setting it between those points is just pure, unadulterated selfishness.

@1goodtern I think most people who aren't still isolating from others are starting to see real signs of permanent immune dysfuction - brain fog, sleepiness, insomnia, mental changes, along with shortness of breath and persistent coughs. We're moving from "flu" to "disability."

@mikeMFgray @ATCforHarris24 @kylegriffin1 If we don't win, Trump will change the system and we won't have an election in 2028.

@tkweeks01 @t_NYC There shouldn't be an *in-person* option. We are in the middle of a global pandemic that maims and kills, and traveling to a conference just boils our planet sooner. This is neofascist.

@kprather88 @ApricotTreeCaf1 Wait, so you are saying that if we made sure that restaurants all had good indoor air quality, R would go below 1 and stay there and we'd never get covid again. WOW! Fantastic - apologies for misunderstanding the science

@kylofone Seriously. It's not biologically possible and it's not coming. You have two choices: adapt to the new normal and take care of yourself by isolating, avoiding indoor contacts, and masking; or die. Vaccines won't let you avoid that.

@MeetJess @JustineKirby They're immunologically not really plausible. We know how to control COVID - unfortunately all you can do is keep isolating, distancing, avoiding indoor contacts, and ventilating+masking if you can't.

@Trplb2 @myrabatchelder Because masks aren't perfect, they just cut down on the risk of transmission (assuming a good-quality respirator worn correctly). You should wear one anytime you have to be in an indoor space with others, but you still need to minimize those exposures.

@TrufusR @bellachu10 @staffcommenter @NHTSAgov You have this *exactly* backwards. In urban cores, scooters and e-bikes should be the only motorized vehicles anyone is driving except for emergency vehicles and delivery trucks in the very early morning. Outside cities cars may still be needed, but should be taxed heavily.
