This map is very familiar. It is from a working paper by S.O. Becker @essobecker and me, circulate Feb. 23: Cremieux - whoever he may be - is ripping this off and passing it around as his own, without mention us even once.

Time to tell the world about the UZH jobmarket candidates who are on the econ market this year! We have a great cohort. As placement director, I have had the privilege to learn a lot more about their research - and you cannot go wrong in taking a closer look! #EconTwitter

Obliteration of Gaza will not end violence, even if every single member of Hamas is killed. History tells us that as long as oppression & systemic violence continues, there will always be violent resistance. Every single time. Wise words from Ijeoma Oluo: 👇

@Econ_4_Everyone Restrictions on number of papers in top 5 is entirely artificial - could be solved in 30 seconds… its jounals and editors coordinating to artificial scarcity. Why? Cui bono?

@FRHoffmann1 It's a moral imperative. Ukraine gave up cruise missiles and nukes under the Budapest Memorandum; without massive support, the West is letting Ukraine dangle in the wind.

Interestingly, the pattern holds even at the personal level. The more headstones in the local graveyard carried a cross or other religious symbol, the lower the share of votes for the Nazis. Similarly, the share of Christian first names is highest among theology students

Do financial incentives crowd out "good" behavior? Our next job market candidate, Florian Schneider, asks this question in the context of COVID vaccinations -- good for the people to get vaxed, but also good for others (fewer ICU visits, slight reduction in transmissibility)
