Threshold signatures today have stagnant secret shares. It's a problem. Attackers can simply compromise shares one by one over the course of months. Proactive refresh is a way to renew these shares. Rather than having months, attackers now only have seconds. 1/8

What are people's rankings for [today's] strongest crypto network effects? Mine: 1) brand, 2) capital, 3) interoperability With #1 mattering a lot more than #2 . Likewise with #3

do trad banks not have public key crypto? just found out that it only takes a routing + account number to authorize an ACH transfer out of my checking i.e. if I give someone some numbers to give me money (a wire), they can use the SAME numbers to take money? no way right?

defi's going to remain the biggest contribution crypto makes to the world. so why are the first 5 pilot partners of @SeismicSys not finance related? well, we asked: how do we help defi? our conclusion: if you're a technologist, you should work on *anything but defi*. (1/3)

**esp on retroPGF day** remember to thank your node engineers that eat distributed systems pain so you don't have to my favorite bull case: every dev worldwide favors dapps since they're so much easier to deploy than apps the next evolution of serverless computing

why? innovating in defi rn is building the best points program. not helpful. what's helpful is building a hit game ( @primodiumgame ) or social platform ( @farcaster_xyz ). bring real volume on-chain. mint native assets w/ intrinsic value. give defi something to do. (2/3)

SNARK recursion should still be last resort for consumer crypto today Batching or posting multiple proofs still much easier than getting an IVC proof on chain If your computation’s too big, try doing everything you can to rm non-native arithmetic & hashing first

How? Recall that accountable threshold signatures are formed by interpolating the lowest degree polynomial passing through the points that represent each party's signature. The collective signature is the y-intercept of this polynomial. 4/8

superpower: advisors who are bearish on your product have been speaking to someone who's genuinely opposed to the direction we're taking @SeismicSys . just formally added them as an advisor can already tell they're going to be top 3 highest value opinions we have access to

The simplest way to tap into this is via Pedersen Commitments. Calling the Pedersen func PD() here. They're hiding + additively homomorphic. Means that the following two properties hold. [1] Hard to recover 5 given PD(5) [2] PD(2) + PD(5) = PD(7)

What I love about open source: * you need some esoteric script * you find someone who happens to have written that a week ago on github * you message them on telegram * you are now friends

was wondering the other day why it's so difficult to find good trad infra engineers (kub, terraform, etc) in crypto now obvious that it's bc so many teams don't think past testnet "the foundation will handle mainnet trouble". man, you *are* the foundation
