@beansprouts_mom @climatelauren I think the BC public has moved well past that " 2ยฐ would be quite nice" stage, but now our problems lie with government technical capacity and politicized management. We went through a period starting in the mid 90s when federal and prov govts focused on cutting deficits. 1/?

Smoke alarm inspector just came by. Asked him to wear a mask, gave him an earloop N95. He didn't unfold it, put a loop over one ear and held the other loop up against his face. Said he was "wearing it". Sigh. Should I complain to his employer?

Do people know how insulting it is to not #MaskUp around other people? Wearing a mask is like saying: I know that SARS2 is airborne. I know that I might be infected and not have symptoms. I care about the health of people around me, as well as those that might be here later.

Sigh. Mask efficiency and virus transmission are largely in the domain of engineering and applied physics. In these fields, RCTs are basically the lowest level of evidence, not the best.

Not all evidence is equally valid. When we develop guidelines there is a hierarchy of evidence that we have to follow. Systematic reviews of RCTs are the best evidence.
