What the article actually says: "A Muslim family who swapped London for a Welsh farm have said they want to encourage people from different ethnic backgrounds to enjoy the outdoors."
Considering the quote tweets the article has generated, this is a really unhelpful headline.
Even by the fairly abysmal standards of modern media - how is this a news story?
Grassing on a conversation that has nothing to do with you, just all for attention?! Meanwhile those (not very paid) employees will have to go to some miserable HR meeting now.
Every single time I see a UK Muslim scold Labour over their stance on Palestine, I remember when the same Muslims scolded me when my people were being besieged in Ghouta. When they sang songs to Corbyn despite him being shamefully pro-Russia and Assad.
Them's the breaks.
Workers should suffer financially for any contentious opinions they share in their private life, according to self-appointed champion of the working man, Billy Bragg.
Kim Petras is having to do demeaning, awful stuff as a supposed career boost. Saying "It's OK for trans people to do this, because they are trans" isn't a sterling act of allydom.
Sooo do we really need to be making this argument in regards to a trans woman at a time when trans peoples’ existence is under threat and one pervasive rhetorical tactic against trans people is that them expressing their sexuality like many people do is deviant and wrong
Sometimes matches are more about performances than results and there was some excellent performances today. Mowatt MOTM today but Grady and Sarmiento very tidy. We did everything bar score. Sometimes, it just doesn't fall for you.

This is what someone who *follows* me thinks it's acceptable to say.
I guarantee he would never say it to my face, nor any other Muslim who crossed his path. This is the sort of stuff people feel emboldened to say now.
@teaforpterosaur
I was mentally unwell for at least a year after having my youngest thanks to the heinous treatment inflicted upon me at the hospital. Surely, after the many maternity scandals in this country, people should have realised that being a "Good Girl" won't save you.
Muslims don't engage in politics: Not integrating, unBritish, more concerned about back home.
Muslims do engage in politics: Terrorism supporters, imported threat, more concerned about back home.
This is Islamophobia.
What a depressing paragraph:
"While under investigation for the failings, Lee quit the force and reportedly set up an OnlyFans account called Officer Naughty. She now faces being barred for life from the police service."
This legislation is GOOD and should enforced MORE. Bully XLs should be added to it.
It is an utter disgrace that virtually all animal charities care more about violent, inbred dogs than people and other animals.
Today is the 32nd anniversary of Breed Specific Legislation in the UK...
This law allows dogs to be judged on their ‘dangerous’ appearance, meaning thousands of innocent dogs have been sentenced to needless death 💔

Only a point dropped. It stung at the time, but the fact is, we went toe-to-toe with them throughout. For a big match, we turned up, which wasn't usually the case.
We are a very good team, even without Wallace, who was a massive miss today.

Cannot quite grasp that people think someone should lose their career for privately questioning the efficacy of a type of medical treatment.
Because that is all that Róisín Muphy did.
The story isn't the cat. It never was. The story is the teacher's verbal abuse of two teenage girls for expressing pretty mainstream opinions.
And yes, if the girls were being unpleasant to another student, the teacher should be capable of handling that without throwing insults
For a week now the combined forces of media, Government and press plus a baroness and a comedian.... have been going after a child who "claims she's a cat."
Only it's not true. Its a lie and a cover for hate and transphobia.

It is none of the bank's business (in every sense) what their customers' political opinions are. As long as people are adhering to their account regs and not money laundering, the bank has no need to know or care about anything else.
It’s entirely reasonable for a company with a publicly quoted parent to decide for itself who it will take on as a customer, according to its own judgment of what’s important. Shareholders can swiftly divest if they value other things more.
This is a subtweet.
@teaforpterosaur
I know people don't like talking about dogs in this manner, but they are essentially vermin. Euthanasia is the only thing that will work because they are genetically unsuitable as pets and their owners keep breeding them.
Today was the type of match that will terrify opposing teams. Hull did pretty much everything right, yet in the space of six minutes, we sucker-punched them twice. They couldn't get back into the match at all.
Yes, Grady was ⭐️ but the entire team was so well-drilled.

Making people take part in public struggle sessions like this over a misunderstanding among children is cringeworthy and wrong.
It's also unleashed a wave of Takes on Muslims, so thanks for that too.
The mother of an autistic 14 year old boy who was involved in the desecration of the Holy Quran at Kettlethorpe High School in Wakefield tells Muslims at Jamia Masjid Swafia that her son is a "very silly boy" without "malicious intent" who is genuinely remorseful.
@JeannaHoch
@Harveycuthbert3
Nobody does that. Nobody because it would be horrifically abusive to the mother and baby. Behave yourself, you shameless try-hard.
This is a really stupid article. The "Woman doing something sexual that men don't need to do is actually empowering" is an MC Escher staircase of an argument:
@saralikeclara
I blame US feminism entirely for these brain worms. No maternity pay, highest maternal mortality rate in the industrialised world, yet their concept of reproductive rights starts and ends with abortion.
I will not repeat the criticisms rightfully already made, but I will add that calling for a "Socialist Federation of the Middle East" without any consideration of what people in the Middle East actually want (not that), is rather cheeky, to put it mildly.
If you live in the UK and want to watch all Premier League games on Sky, BT Sports etc. it would cost you over £1000 per year.
Obviously we don't want the Super League, but don't forget we're also getting mugged off right now.

Not sure if you've recorded the podcast yet, but last night it felt like a big chunk of the Brummie Road didn't want to leave the ground. Everyone was just so ecstatic at the performance. Cannot remember the last time it's felt like that.

The impact Corberan has had on Diangana is nigh on miraculous. He's loving his football now.
I suspect there are some tales to be told about the Albion dressing room in the days of Allardyce/Ismael/Bruce, but for now, we'll enjoy the good times while they are here.

To quite a few people on here:
You aren't standing up for anything or with anyone. You are just a bigot revelling in the opportunity to attack a group you don't like and you seem to be revelling in their dead. It's grotesque.
@SamuelVimes10
I will always remember a particular Mumsnet thread which started off as discussing the sexual harassment their teenage daughters received and rapidly descended into more wild claims about the impact of their daughter's great beauty upon all onlookers. It was very peculiar.

Child death stats are pretty bleak about the risk of a non-related male in the home.
I agree that "make divorce harder" and "have babies" as solutions to societal problems are hugely unhelpful, but so are some of the glib responses.
I think there was an issue pre-Trump. But mainly I think the "Bring your whole self to work/All work should be activism" mentality" has a lot to answer for. It is not a good thing knowing so much about everyone's political views on everything.
1) Something I keep coming back to with the benefit of hindsight: the 2016 presidential election and the broader Trumpist movement succeeded in breaking much of academia. ...
It's so weird that this isn't a greater health scandal, especially as it involves babies dying. There seems to be an air of complacency, as if bad maternity care "just happens."
Today’s column is on the dangerous maternity services that are costing too many mothers and babies their lives - and no, it’s not just (or even mostly) about staffing levels.
Babies are dying – and trotting out the same old excuses just won’t wash
I think this cartoon says quite a bit about the mindset of the person who drew it. Particularly making the BBC journalist a woman, when the most criticised BBC journalist is a man.
Those who left Syria are openly referred to as traitors on state TV.
All they are to the regime is a potential source of money, e.g, remittances and paying to avoid military service and to fulfil that they need to be living outside of Syria.
To summarise Assad doesn’t want the refugees back and he can’t afford to have them. He will never seriously agree to the full return. Even sending them to places outside his control is hard. While Idlib might be able to take some, it can’t take them all. 4 mill already live there
Is there a competition in the Francophonie as to who can be the most arsey towards Muslims?
The UK is unquestionably the best European country in which to be Muslim and it's embarrassing that more UK Muslims don't realise that.

All funds raised in March will go towards a new reading programme exploring books by women as a tool to increase empathy, empower connection and encourage community cohesion.
The RNLI (and others) work to rescue the cockle pickers in the Morecambe Bay disaster was one of the largest peacetime rescue missions at sea, but I'm sure Daniela knows better.
The reason we hear a lot less about the people who drowned in the Med and why there was no expensive search and rescue operation like the one for the missing sub is exactly the same reason why 6 years after Grenfell no one's been arrested. The victims were mainly poor and brown.
One day, insha Allah, there will be a free Syria and there will be a beautiful square or public space named in honour of Jo Cox. One of the few politicians anywhere, to stand by the Syrian people.
I did not know what Jo’s fate would be, but I kept her letters and notes to me.
Why? Because they represent the thing I treasure most about Parliament. We do have more in common than that which divides us.
If we remember that then our differences and disagreements are no
These "The Nazis weren't so bad" articles seem weirdly devoid of any mention of Aktion T4 or Mengele.
Murray & Co's argument isn't about condemning Hamas, it's about whitewashing and praising Nazis. That's where all this is going.
“The gas chambers were invented in part because the Nazis did not much enjoy the actual process of killing Jews as much as Himmler hoped they might.”
Who knew! Gas chambers were actually evidence of Nazi humanity.

I had to get the night coach the other month and the driver gave everyone a big talk beforehand on being quiet and that loud speakerphone conversations/music would get them escorted off the coach. I had strong feelings of love for that driver, especially as everyone behaved.

So telling that they still use such standard descritpions of female attractiveness like "hourglass figure". It's clearly much easier to "transgress gender" then it is to care about not being thought of as conventionally beautiful.
@marstrina
Because most children listed for adoption in the UK have already been through a great deal of trauma and need very specialist care as opposed to standard parenting. Adoption services aren't always open about the level of trauma that children have been through either.
@MazMHussain
If they'd taken the anti-terrorist stance, they could have viewed it as a regional problem,that they needed support from their neighbours in the region to solve, thus deflecting Hamas attempts to stop normalisation. But no.
The use of the passive voice in most of the QTs, as if the tin of paint caused his death as opposed to him being shot dead is peturbing.
Likewise that it's the hurty words crew claiming this is no big deal.
I think an entire school having to go into lockdown because a man was being fatally savaged on the premises might have been a bigger factor.
That, plus the death rate, which is now into double figures.

Where this thinking leaves the John Wayne Gacy's of this world is never elaborated. The best they can come up with is 24/7 community supervision, which sounds a lot like...
The Christmas ad that really should have caused outrage was the Asda one from a few years ago, which centred on a mum being treated as such a drudge that she didn't even get an actual chair to sit on while eating her Christmas dinner.
We are locking people in rooms infested with rats and cockroaches and expecting them to come out as better people.
If it wasn't like this in the era of slop buckets, why is it like this now?
Dilly complains about Islamophobia because that's what pays his bills. Hence, he also actively seeks to generate anti-Muslim sentiment.
There are quite a few people who are examples of that.
A lot of people like Dilly complain about Islamophobia, but not because they think it’s wrong to collectively punish ordinary people for their ethnic or religious identity. In fact, Dilly clearly thinks that’s fine, except when it targets Muslims, in which case it’s bad.
Never forget that the pit bull advocate's rejoinder to this is that they must have been "bad owners." Their son was ripped apart by amoral beasts and the pit advocates blame them. This is ghoulish, shameful, contemptible behavior.
If this heinous individual does the Extremist Grift to Lecturing Entire Muslim Community on Not Being An Extremist Grift Pathway, I think my head might go pop.

But then, I see comments like this. Smethwick is where I've lived for most of my life. It's my home. Why shouldn't there be a statue who looks like a lot of the women who live in Smethwick? Why is the reality of the town offensive?
