I understand why they modified chanis character to drive home the anti-savior point more directly (and weird I thought to not include her death and drive that final nail home) but it was a bit sad to see how they washed stilgars whole arc for a general religious fanatic instead
@kane
The amount of 2’x2’ plaques all over the world commemorating an entire empire where apts now stand would blow the minds of NIMBYS desperately trying to preserve a few-decades-old empty lot
@bdquinn
When I worked on the ACA ads in 2015/16 or so, no one in Kentucky would really enroll with ACA ads but the state exchange KyNect? Now THATS a local health agency Kentuckians trusted 🙄
@oneunderscore__
The point was that you selectively don’t place the same standards on everyone because of your politics. That’s bad for a journalist to do, esp on your beat. Respond to that not a strawman of Nate bashing

Illegal immigration is a class B misdemeanor. Do we call colloquially people ‘drunk in public’ criminals for the rest of their lives? Or people who steal a candy bar and get caught?

There’s no content being stolen, the tech sites literally increase traffic to news sites. The idea that Meta should be fiscally culpable for journalism’s failures is astounding dumb

The first line isn’t true. The real answer is ‘energy is required to build stuff,’ the form doesn’t matter at all and every day oil makes up less of it
This last post might be the biggest cope I’ve ever seen
There’s literally no definition of cultural power that the US does not possess in spades. The fact that Bruno uses American English spelling and vernacular is even more evidence of the impact based on this
Finally, does the fact that I am writing in English prove American cultural power? My friends, English is a language bringing together Latin and Germanic Europe. Not the two halves of Europe as some have argued but still two of its main pillars
@NateSilver538
@lxeagle17
I don’t think you guys are within an order of magnitude of being correct here. US teams will be and already are massively outbid by Europe, china, and Saudi. No one in the US is interested in a franchise that consistently loses money
@RVAwonk
You made like a dozen posts about how the rapes were just ‘fantasies about brown people being bad’ and then with the proof it’s ’never enough, should have done sooner’ just admit you were wrong and move on. Whatever this is is getting gross
@ab0rt3dGF
@deusexmoniker
The goalposts move! Sure, but it’s true that if this economy continues they will be able to. Most of the income gains were at the most poor —
I think that’s honestly where a lot of the disconnect is coming from. It’s the poorest that are gaining fast..
@airgups23
Tbh the amount of transaction volume on the programmatic side, even with tiny margins, helped show big $$$s to wall st and juiced the stock in that key growth phase. With total market share and transaction volume mattering less 10+ years later, it turns into almost a cost center

That’s right Bruno. These cities are not looked up to for their power to project modernity. They are looked up to for their cultural and economic power.

Yeah this is the result of cutting engineering corners for years. Reducing in-house expertise in favor of farming out every bit of the supply chain. As people with that institutional knowledge are pushed out or age out or just leave, a ton of value is lost, but takes time to see

The original post said you can find housing if you’re not a ‘dweeb,’ the onus now is on you to explain why that doesn’t mean that everyone who can’t find housing is an uncool dweeb? What a ridiculous position

A cursory search will show you the totals from the 7th, other replies the decades of suicide bombings. Not to mention forcing the captured kids to watch videos of their families murders.
It's possible to want an end to war while condemning terrorists. This response is naive.

How does openai pollute the ecosystem? These are answers to individual queries. It’s not out here as an AGI posting all day by itself. This makes no sense if you think about it for 5 seconds
People mad in the comments about this but the CDC site has been basically unusable word salad for a decade.
So many times I worked with them to try to get users the info they needed directly only for them to send users to a bloated website with probably 2k words on screen
First announced last year, a sweeping effort towards "relaunching"

I mean…it’s probably because the Fremen go on a violent jihad that kills tens of billions of people under the banner of religious fundamentalism. It’s probably good to avoid getting into all that, esp as Herbert explicitly tries to avoid it as well

partial rent control is bad. Its like handing out the lottery and making everyone else pay the added effects. Widespread rent control could work if & only if the local gov can build enough housing. Thats never been done
@Carnage4Life
This isn’t what went down. Chrome and Search were becoming user defaults and Apple wanted to generate more cash flow. They approached Google to demand a payment for Search being default. But take it away and most people switch anyway. Google didn’t start this though
