@drewmckevitt When I was an undergraduate I had to bring my prof an actual paper cutting (no copies!) of my grandmother’s obituary, which I *had* to be named in as a survivor. My rule is students must inform me they have a conflict. That’s it. Glad I had him so my students won’t.
