Many things are equally important as test scores, and schools should educate the whole child! Our paper provides an interdisciplinary analysis of education’s social, economic, and psychological processes. If you care about bullying, and want to know more about the why and how👇

My JMP shows that cultivating adolescents’ noncog skills, particularly empathy, can help reduce bullying. ALSO, empathy exerts TWO channels: (1) human capital effect (an increase in one's own empathy) and (2) social effect (reshaping social networks and associated peer effects!!

What else can we learn from the model? Well. The model can also help with policy counterfactuals! Interestingly, I find targeting bullies' friends is more effective than targeting bullies directly because of the social effect! (curious about the details? <- Let's chat!
