One of my best friends & golfing buddy passed away suddenly Tue night at age 64. He was a golf fanatic that maintained a hdc between 0 and 2 for as long as I can remember, but he was a greater guy than he was a golfer. I played with him Sunday, he birdied the last hole for a 76.
My Serius/XM doubles in price so I go through the song and dance of trying to get a “special”. After 25 minutes I snap and tell her to cancel both cars. I guess I’ve officially reached “get off my lawn” age.
Just finished day one of two day stroke play Sr. Mens club championship.
Shot 71 (1 under) on the short course, 5,520 yards.
Three stoke lead, hopefully I’ll have good new tomorrow.

Didn’t expect Erin Hills to be such a huge property and huge course. Thank god the fairways were rolling. Caddies told us it was a little over an 8 mile walk. Awesome place.

Who gets to decide what a divot is? The picture is clearly a divot, but what about the one week old depression with a little grass, or the ten day old one that has grass but is still a depression.
You know some guys will call every ball not on a perfect lie and old divot.
Well I did follow up yesterdays 71 with a 72 today to win the Sr. men’s club championship.
Not a ton of competition but did make 9 birdies over the 36 holes so feel pretty good about the rounds.

First: Two teams of 10, 7 of 10 best ball.
Second: foursome bet, naturally.
Third: Blind draw best two man best ball.
Four: Gross and net skins each round.
Five: Overall champion on a four round stableford system,
Winner gets the “Maroon Jacket”.
Heading to Palm Springs Thursday with my sons, cracked the face on my M5 last week. They surprised me with this today. Should be an awesome weekend

Suppose you do all of those, do you post a score?
Seems like you would have a seriously lower handicap than it should be. Nice for X bragging but not good if you ever want to play in a club tournament.
Played Kaanapali Royal this morning on Maui. Nice shape, ok layout, good staff. $230 green fee each, no coffee, no food to start. Bev cart had no alcoholic drinks, super weak hospitality for those fees.

Michael Campbell. I was staying at Pine Needles in 2005 and drank champagne out of the US Open trophy with him on Sunday night until 4:00 AM. There were only about 25 people there.

I was in a car once on a three hour drive to a buddy trip and one guy calls his wife to say he’d be home in four days.
He’s single now.
