I just tell them “you’ll still poop; it just won’t be anything to call home about.” No one thinks it’s funny and they never laugh, but hey, that’s showbiz

Perfect example of resident wellness: attending can tell I feel horrible before a case, she gets a PA to relieve me without me asking, she makes a dr appt for me, and checks on me later that night. Not gonna get that everywhere you go. THANK YOU

Agree 100% with this. My residency paid for Step 3, my cell phone, iPad, laptop, and every book and resource I could want. Residency is already stressful - pick a program that doesn’t add more to it

Okay okay hear me out…
Instead of a J-pouch after a TPC for UC or FAP, you make serial longitudinal enterotomies along the terminal ileum that are closed transversely (serial enteroplasties?) to make a new “rectal” conduit that is anastomosed end-to-end to the anus

My field research does indeed confirm that wearing pants while peeing will prevent the person near you from being peed on.
Also, my wife says I need to sleep on the couch.
S/p 2nd dose of the vaccine, got it in my non-dominant arm both times, only side effect is the inability to use that arm properly during any laparoscopic case & thus constantly am reminded my left hand is doing nothing to help me
Oh wait, that’s not the vaccine

I’m not sure I agree. Although it’s a secondary use of the Step 1 score, what other metric is going to be used to compare residency applicants? Where they went to med school? That hardly seems like equity. Research experience? What if his/her school didnt have many opportunities?
Parents came to visit and tried my new coffee. Sent me this picture the day they got home.

Sometimes I lay on the couch with my feet by the door and sometimes I lay with my head by the door. I think we can all agree that mixing up our exercise routines is key in these difficult times....

Hmmmm, do you have any studies to back that up? All the studies I’ve seen regarding passing the ABS QE cite Step 1 as the only statistically significant predictor

Doesn’t try for years and then pulls this stunt? Woof.
@SAGES_Updates
Pretty presumptuous to assume it’s a NEW friend. For all we know they’ve been chumming it up for years. They’re SUCH good friends that the little guy feels comfortable getting right up in his buddy’s ear to whisper “thanks for being my friend.” Just saying.

Please do. But as someone who came from a DO school, I frankly needed Step 1 to standout. The year before I matched into an ACGME surgery program, only like 35/~1200 positions were matched by DOs. Step 1 was favored over Step 2 & it helped me put myself on a level playing field
