A tradie, at my house for a repair, kept staring at me. I had all my wits about me in case he did anything untoward (unfortunately the way these days 😬). But after 45 mins of utter awkwardness he finally blurts out 'Um- I think you took out my appendix'. 🤣

You’re 24x more likely to become a doctor if your parents were doctors, compared to those whose parents did any other type of work. Similarly, you’re 17x more likely to become a lawyer if your parents are lawyers. Here’s how it varies among the elite professions.

This is impossible even in peacetime, in highly resourced areas, with power and water and sufficient trained staff. We plan for hours to get one critical patient two floors down for a scan and they want to send all these people six KILOMETRES? This is medically indefensible. 😠
I certainly wasn't expecting a *GP* to blame infanticide on a man being 'goaded'. 😱
I hope 2024 will cause us to deeply examine how such views come to be held by medical colleagues. 👀
At the hospital where I'm teaching today, this is on the toilet doors. I'm told it's because a doctor died by suicide in the toilets and wasn't discovered for 12 hours.💔

Dear school educators,
If you ask the girls, and only the girls, to stay behind so they can be told that spaghetti straps/tank tops are banned at school camp for 'comfort/sun safety' then you are, in fact, not concerned about comfort or sun safety, but policing women's bodies.🤨
