Finished the cover of Chapter 6 of Don't Tell My Wife I'm a Cult Leader. I cribbed a vintage shot of Lou Reed, most likely coming down off some serious stuff.

As long as you’re not doing it to intentionally confuse your readers or put on airs that you’re more sophisticated than the people you’re writing for.
It’s 1994. The world faces an impending apocalypse known today as the Internet. Floyd Simmons, a couch-surfing rebel, gets thrust into the role of end-times antihero after falling in love with Mandy, a firebrand artist with radical tendencies herself. 💥🌎
@petercoffin
Sometimes it's actually good to have a few negative reviews for authenticity's sake. When people see all positive reviews, it looks suspicious, but a few baseless one-star reviews give your work more credibility.

I know a lot of people are confused by this picture, so let me help: the correct name for the raised platform in the foreground is lectern. The one in the back is called the pulpit. Many people confuse those two words. Glad I could help.

It means something to those who happen to follow that award. Only a handful matter and the ones that do tend to be politically motivated more times than not.
But I’m an open-minded fellow; when a book says it won a Pulitzer, I won’t hold that against them.

It's one of those subtle things that you can't put your finger on if it's done great, but is absolutely jarring if done wrong. Similar to how film editing and scoring work in films.
It’s 1994. The world faces an impending apocalypse known today as the Internet. Floyd Simmons, a couch-surfer turned rebel, finds himself smitten with Mandy, an aspiring artist torn between her passions and Floyd's gnawing ambitions.
The story begins in the dystopian hellscape

I strive to be a better man every day and when I hear stories like that I think 1) at least I’m not that guy, followed by 2) don’t fool yourself, that’s quite a low bar you’re looking at.
@blambot
Graphic Design began to click for me when I read in a book about how by making a visual element bigger than the frame, the viewer will "fill in the blanks" thus allowing you to place figures larger than what the artboard allows.

A “K” doesn’t cut it. Unless you’re in a very Jewish area that Costco is not a Kosher butcher. For your cousin, find out if they keep kosher as many don’t. The salting is part of the koshering process, so if you got kosher meat it would not have to be salted, except to taste.
@klhicks912
It has more to do with the vetting process. If you had it published traditionally, then potential readers believe at least you convinced one other person it was good. But if you start racking up sales, then that becomes the new credential, no matter how it was published.

Just from a feeling I get, it seems like FB is slowly becoming more irrelevant and will soon become not unlike it was originally intended, a place to share a few photos and stories from your life.

We tell them that they aren't real, but they represent something that's real: charity, kindness, etc. and that stories and characters help teach children these values.

I’d see if it was their first project or not. They may have a history. If it’s a first time see if they have a web site or web presence with a premade audience.

I didn’t mean that. But to come up with your own wild examples of common issues either that you see a lot from either letterers or artists who don’t take into consideration the space needed.

Felt that way while I was reading Nelson Mandela's autobiography. Every time I stopped reading, I felt like I had to tell him I'd be back soon, and he patiently waited. When I finished, I told him we'd be in touch, and so far so good, he's made it into my novel. ☺
