It’s a really good depiction of a diaphragm wall construction. It is sort of like a chainsaw that cuts a trench, backfilled by a clay slurry, and eventually replaced by reinforcing and concrete.
Likely an outside groundwater barrier/foundation for a new building.
OMG! Thank you
@ScottFish24
and
@FantasyCaresOrg
for the invitation to
#SFB14
!
I'll be drafting in Houston in the Jim Lovell Division on July 6th.
Love paying homage to Apollo 13!
But we've got no problems in Houston today!
I got to live draft in the
@FantasyCaresOrg
@ScottFish24
Bowl 14
#SFB14
today in Houston!
This is my (slightly delayed) draft thread, talking through each pick.
Here’s me with the great folks in the
@SFB14Houston
draft!
Picks to follow 🧵
@christofspieler
But at 2am that goofy train is better than a 1/2 mile walk on surprisingly thick carpet.
Best plus, announcing system is starting right at the end at Terminal A.
@AlexMealerTX
Hmm. Also a free moving street for cars. Thank goodness the City included left turn lanes that make 11th Street safer for all, including us in our cars.
OMG!
Thank you
@SFB_AviMakers
!
You caught my profession (Houston stormwater management) and my
#SFB14
division (Harry S Stumper from Armageddon) perfectly!
Thank you so much!
Hey
@ChrisDohertyCFM
thank you for supporting

and the

I hope you enjoy your AVI! - a high res version of this and and banner have just been emailed to you
@4WhomJBellTolls
That's one reason I removed the vote from my home league. I've heard - "I voted veto because I didn't want to face xxx".
I do still have commish approval, but I can process is a minute, not in a day to wait for the vote.
@EvoIution9
Mildly wondering how hard he had to work to position the treadmill in the window.
Oh, and who is catching the ballistic firewood on the other side.
Perfect charging experience today. Navasota, TX

Perfect experience, and a super helpful location btwn Houston and College Station today. Thanks!
@RateYourCharge
@n1texansfan
Also a quick reminder that it is a road game against a bottom 10 team, which has not gone so well.
Hope the zombie Oilers uniforms give some additional motivation.
@TexasTribune
It was super simple math: average gas tax revenue/vehicle.
Wish
#txlege
had simply dropped gas tax & made this universal.
Better, stagger registration fee by wheels/weight.
Super better, registration fee based on vehicle miles traveled but ended inspections that collect the data.
@JoRo_NFL
Imagining.
Starts with the Raiders, who are now off-schedule.
Continues with the road/home game at Chargers (I'm going, who else?).
Finishes with a resting/unmotivated division champs (FUKC, right?).
Keep imagining a round 1 game against inexperienced NE or flailing Titans?
@byesline
I would not mind a new stadium. I’d prefer it to be in the same location, right back where the real Mile High was.
The newest stadium (SoFi in LA) is amazing. The image is from Broncos roadie vs. Chargers.
@kleib323
I’ve spent 1/3 a lifetime in both Denver & Houston, visited Austin & San Diego quite a bit.
Denver, Austin, San Diego: amazing places that are also really expensive. I like commitment to light rail in each.
Houston is a city of amazing opportunity, it’s also a giant highway grid.
On this first Sunday with no NFL football, please enjoy the most insane ending to any Broncos game I've ever seen.
The date: November 17, 1985.
Denver appears to have blocked the Chargers game-winning FG attempt in overtime, but then things take a turn. And then another . . .
@weatherbryan
Assuming this is damage from the storm surge lifting the bridge, rather than pier scour failure.
The first would be easier to fix than the second.

Daily - Beetle
Family - GTO
Weekend - Bronco
Fun - Mustang
For the Family trip in the GTO, I’d have to repeat my Dad’s road-trip with his Dad (Phoenix to Stockton CA, 750 miles, 10 hours. Google maps tell me it’s normally a 12 hour drive).

@mattlanza
I’ve long believed that human-induced global warming/climate change was coming.
I had been skeptical re:the effect on storm/flood intensity (big storms have always happened), but my own studies mirror many others. We are seeing more frequent intense storm events. Period.
@GHPartnership
Love it!
Next step - continue all the way to Wheeler.
It is nearly useless as a street for cars. 1 lane no left turns. More productive duplication on surrounding 1-way streets.
@howie_hua
I never understood … (algebra, trig…)
You must be really smart
What’s the deal with new math
I hated math class
I loved my math teacher
Bless your heart
@CyberMikeOG
The local Amazon warehouse (S Houston/Pearland) has a large fleet, perhaps exclusively, of Rivian delivery trucks.
They also have on-site parking for the fleet with charging .
It’s a new warehouse. Probably easier to implement than to retrofit.
@SjamieIt
New roadway reconstruction near my office included bollards to protect pedestrian crosswalk ramps.
Seemed excessive to me.
Amazing how many times they’ve been hit/replaced.
@MaseDenver
Obvious personal lesson. Don’t watch the Broncos draft with my friend Mike.
1988 - Ted Gregory
2001 - Willie Middlebrooks
2020 - okay Jeudy is good, but the next 2 WRs (Ceedee and Jefferson) are pro bowlers.
Maybe by 2038 we can watch again.
@TexansCommenter
Great list until a zombie Oiler showed up for the Titans.
But I guess okay, since Warren Moon seems to believe oiler history moved with the team.
I’d have simply picked Steve McNair or Eddie George.
@FreeRangeKids
@evan7257
Gosh, my parents must have been horrible!
I walked an average of 0.92 miles to school and back from the 2nd grade on.
I had to cross a 4-lane arterial street too!
The shame. 🤷
Oh, the open space area, my friends and I would spend hours there unsupervised. It all turned out well.
@mattlanza
Stormwater engineers think in 100-yr 24-hr storm events.
Even without Harvey, Houston area design storm was going up 20%, including Harvey it went up 30%.
That mirrored 1987-2017 data we evaluated, showing about 2/3 of the largest 30 24-hr rainfall days were in the last 10 yrs.
@illustrevor
I HATED the ending for How I Met Your Mother.
(Spoiler alert: killing off the mother when her kids were young, and the whole series being Ted asking in roundabout fashion for permission to date Aunt Robin.)
But it was absolutely the right way to end the show.
@BikeHouston
@HouPublicWorks
This looks like a revision to a TxDOT AZ2G grate, which is supposed to have all grates - and that gap - perpendicular to traffic.
Bear in mind the AZ2G is for a highway application. Local road drainage most typically is by curb opening inlets.
@evan7257
“revive the city from a tragic natural disaster that many Houstonians hadn’t experienced since Hurricane Rita in 2005”.
Gosh, I’ve lived here since 2007. I’d surely reference 2001 Allison and 2008 Ike before Rita. Although I heard it was one hell of a traffic jam.
@Boenau
Why yes, they most certainly should.
See the new Texas Heritage Parkway a 6 mile arterial constructed with roundabouts (no stoplights) and a dedicated pedestrian/bike trail with tunnels under at each roundabout.
@justin_gardener
Lovely.
I may need to widen my climbing trellises. Very sturdy, but also tight quarters in the middle.
(Peas on 3 of 4 faces, cucumber on the 4th).
@evan7257
@buchanansplants
This is my experience exactly.
One of my bosses lives in the neighborhood and does not like the project. Need to talk to him more about, but probably rush hour backups at lights.
@FishBowlMerch
Wearing this beaut for my first live draft in 3 weeks (Houston, “Armageddon” division).
Wanted one with a space adventure theme.
Perfect.
@StillChamps23
@RoFlo
Jerry,
Harden and his iso ball are the reason I stopped watching the Rockets.
The massive tear down didn’t help win me back.
But for sure, I won’t watch again if Harden comes back.
@mamboitaliano__
Thou shalt not deface ancient sites. (Or all sites, please).
This - at the Colosseum - made me embarrassed to live in Texas and to know Aggies.
@4WhomJBellTolls
Draft and trade prediction?
The thought is that they'd be fine with (prefer) Stroud (or another QB), but want to get something extra out of the deal?
Seems risky if they don't in-fact love Bryce. Could get "stuck" with him.
@MadScientistFF
A gas burning car.
I’ve driven an EV for the last 5.5 years and won’t ever go back.
So convenient to charge at home, so fun to drive, don’t ever have to pump gas again.
@classicryan17
Hearing developers discuss markets in that very area, much of the market is actually for jobs in the growing warehouse corridor west of Katy.
@o2bnobx
This. This is the key.
It’s the ONE reason why.
People load carts thinking it’s a deal, but might forget to show the app, or might not have scanned it, or might not be able to do so.
@FB_Helmet_Guy
@johnabono
I like what we got better. The only change I would have wanted was one paying homage to the Oilers blacks.
In other words, H-town blue for the name and numbers, instead of red.
