Mashallah brethren this genius Muslim exegete has shown us that our scriptures actually teaches that we will have 100 houses, 100 brothers, 100 sisters, 100 fathers, 100 mothers, 100 wives, 100 children, and 100 lands in heaven. Wow his intelligence is truly astounding

A 🧵 on how the Council of Chalcedon may be responsible for the worst year in history (according to historians), 536 AD. 1/25

I will say it again and again. 536 AD, considered the worst year in human history by historians, is also the year that the empire became irreversibly Chalcedonian when it revoked attempts at reunion with OO, condemn/exiled our patriarchs, and established unity with Pope Agapetus.

This is possibly one of the clearest pieces of evidence for the OT Jewish belief in the cross. Notice the Egyptian ankh on both sides. Why would he use the ankh, an Egyptian pagan symbol (despite destroying idols)? Because it was the closest symbol to the cross at the time.

I think it’s insufficient to merely spend your day with the mindset that it *might* be your last day. Spend your day is if it is *for sure* your last day. I don’t mean go party or spend it in pleasures, I mean go repent and spend it considering how every decision you make today

An ecumenical council needs to actually be holy for it to be called ‘holy’. If several bishops (now canonized in their churches) lie before God in it and the only person who’s not afraid to call them out is the deposed ‘heretic’ and not the ‘orthodox bishops’, then it’s not holy.

@Scholastic_X @yousefsalib1 @YariLogos You don’t know anything about our medieval fathers and you’ve shown your ignorance. The universal-particular model was not utilized in debates with Muslims. It’s only used analogically as the Cappadocians fathers and St Cyril used it.

@ChristpilledLib How valid is the Melkite Cath claim over the Melkite Ortho? Btw keep in mind that both the Melkite Cath and the Melkite Ortho are schismatics in relation to the Syriac Orthodox Church since their ancient predecessor was illegitimately installed by Justinian over St Severus.

Why? According to Dr. Brock, it was because the Chalcedonians did not keep their promise of preserving the Miaphysite’s side of the minutes. Thus after privately speaking to the Emperor, they convinced him to not listen to the Miaphysite side at all. 4/25

@IFFFMEISTER I believe the key difference is that Athanasius lived at a time when the canon of scripture was not yet decided, whereas Luther was born into the RC church centuries after they’d established a canon.

@jathanasius1 Christ ≠ two kidneys Christ = two natures (your belief) If Christ = two natures, and the pronouns of these natures are plural, then the pronouns of Christ are plural.

This backfires on both of them. Bart can’t say there’s more evidence for Marian apparitions than the resurrection because that evidence would be counted as evidence for the resurrection. And the Prot can’t acknowledge the resurrection without acknowledging Marian apparitions.

Actually your example works against you. Mia is the feminine version of Heno, and there is indeed a difference between Henotheism and Monotheism. Heno means One God, Mono Only (One) God. Heno/Mia means there’s one nature from the two, Mono means only one nature from the two.

@Cazonci98 Pope Shenouda spent decades fighting against the offspring of Palamitism within the church and also against the Neo-Patristics movement. He is considered a saint by all Copts and will be canonized soon.

Two natures cannot share the same hypostatic properties since hypostatic properties are attached to their essences and circumscribe them. The plant hypostatic property of sprouting from the ground in Netherlands cannot circumscribe the human essential property of being born; and

Moving on, one of the attendees in these dialogues was the Chalcedonian Bishop Anthimus of Trebizond. Despite being a prominent Chalcedonian theologian (personally selected by the Emperor to defend the Chalcedonian side), it seems this loss sowed seeds of doubt in his heart. 5/25

St. Severus had been exiled in 518 AD and replaced with a false Chalcedonian Bishop Paul the Jew (whose violent assassinations and persecution towards us was so awful that even the Chalcedonian Emperor Justin deposed him), thus schisming by establishing a parallel hierarchy. 7/25

@luminae @superxtianmario Furthermore, this logic can be easily turned against you 1. The divine nature of Christ was hypostatically united to the human nature 2. The divine nature of Christ = the divine nature of the Father 3. The divine nature of the Father was hypostatically united to the human nature

@Snaelincognito @JengaJay10 Yeah I’d say it’s pretty fair to say that almost every single one on this list was “monophysite” (OO), straight up Nestorianizing, or irrelevant/post-schism (many of the post-schism ones being clear Nestorians).
