"Is God willing to prevent Reddit, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then from whence comes Reddit?" - Econotheist

I understood it in episode 6 because of Jabba (that's part of what makes the place so bad) but the inclusion in the prequels and 9 were pretty unnecessary
I don't typically ask for personal prayers, but if y'all can pray for my mental health, please do. My life is gone because of the COVID restrictions so it's hard to stay sane, especially since I'm diagnosed with depression. I'm sure many of you are suffering the same.
You know that a paper arguing that atheism is more pious than belief in God - even if God exists - is going to be a banger when it starts with "I grew up Catholic"

Every new, big Eva book is one of the following:
- Jesus wasn't Republican or Democrat
- CS Lewis is great!
- We have to be more irenic (except to Christians who hold harsh positions)
- Everyone sins, so don't condemn practices that modern culture coincidentally approves
I had no idea what I wanted for my future, but when a trad girl tweeted "get married young and have 6 million kids" everything made sense.
I went to the local arboretum and picked a wife off a tree. Married her 20 minutes later. It's so easy, and I'm so glad I saw that tweet!
I've had some interviews since then, but the job market is obviously very tough right now.
I have 3 good references all from that company (a different boss, peer, and member from another team) to help me during my job search. But it still sucks. Please pray I find a good job.
How to impress women by theological tradition:
Evangelical, Baptist, pentecostal: lift chairs
Lutheran: Sing loud with good tone
Reformed:
Roman Catholic: dress nicely, pray your rosary, etc.
I just finished reading Jeffrey Hemmer's "Man Up!" which covers what masculinity is and it's really, really good. Hemmer's broad argument is that alpha culture is the opposite of masculinity because Christ, the perfect man, did not live a life like that.
A guy I know says "Jane Austen ruined a generation of trad wives" just because a girl he went out with read Jane Austen and broke up with him after he insisted she wear head coverings 3 weeks into the relationship
Can he say anything intelligent? Lol
I mean seriously I like beautiful churches but do you really think that external beauty is an indicator of truth? That's practically the opposite of what the Bible says half the time lol
The Bible: Analytic Philosopher Translation
"For some individual x, if x contains the property of meekness M, then blessedness B is necessarily coextensive with M in x. The combination of M & B necessarily entails x inheriting the Earth" (Matthew 5:5)
Over the past few days, every single member of the Lutheran Twitter bracket has been called an antisemite, entirely without proof. This includes an actual Ashkenazi Jew who converted into Lutheranism.
I'm reading William Lane Craig and JP Moreland's portion on the Trinity in "Philosophical Foundations for a Christian Worldview" and it may be the single worst theological treatise I've ever read from people who are not utterly insane
I was actually crying laughing when watching this video. Some highlights:
- Defining Reformed theology as theonomic, postmil, and presup
- Actual yelling
- Citing his 90s debates as a witness to his authority
- Claiming Thomists are afraid of him
We need a round table discussion with the following people/YouTube channels:
Jay Dyer
Michael Lofton
VaticanCatholic (the sedes)
James White
Steven Anderson
Leighton Flowers
John MacArthur

This paper is so bad lol she says "it is true that Catholicism does promise eternal rewards for good behavior on Earth. But not all Christian dominations do. Lutheranism, Calvinism, and Presbyterianism all hold to the doctrine of predestination"
I’m currently looking into the Marian Dogmas. In the beginning of Luke’s Gospel, Mary claims that “all generations will call me blessed.” For Protestants, when was the last time you called Mary blessed? I don’t think I ever have.
I would like to formally announce that I am officially more annoyed by Reformed Baptist masculinity influencers than I am by terminally online Orthodox converts
What's funny about this is that the Reformation era eucharistic debates were precisely christological, and much of it was about which side preserved both Ephesus and Calcedon.
Most theobros aren't actually qualified to be ministers, and that includes me. The ministry isn't just studying theology constantly, it's helping people in their life every day.
I try not to rant or sound angry on here, but it is pretty impossible for me to not be angry at the "mere Christian* types who will deny every historic doctrine of Christianity to appease their philosophical commitments.
Just saw the old clip of John MacArthur saying "depression is just thinking about morbid things, think on good things...we don't offer depression counselling"
I think this man is actually a danger to his congregants. The fact that his church "licenses" counselors terrifies me.
