Delighted to be starting 2023 by signing up with two great people,
@PamMelbourne
and
@Brambarr
, on their exciting new venture
@DecibelSport
.
A talent agency with exciting plans, a brilliant roster already and a real desire to push all kinds of diversity.
Tonight, my friends and I started playing a second hand cricket board game.
Thanks to the handwritten scorecards of the previous owners 15 years ago, we’ve tracked them down on Twitter and are now proposing an exhibition match at their local pub in Cuxham.
This is beyond superb.
Sorry to be a moaning minnie, but booing the opposition’s national anthem should be left behind as a relic of the bad old days. So arrogant, so yobbish, so Brexit.
Not in keeping with Southgate, his team or this supposed new era.

Hats off to
@alfiehewett6
for speaking to us live on
@BBCTwo
after his defeat.
A great ambassador for the sport.
He will definitely win this
@Wimbledon
singles title one day.
Oda sensational and still only 17!
@vonny_bravo
One shred of comfort for your mother: She should feel very proud of you for raising this issue so eloquently and passionately.
Good luck to you all.
@michaelehughes
I wore prosthetic arms as a child.
One time going through Belfast Airport, the security staff asked my Mum what was in her suitcase.
She blithely responded ‘Arms’.
And was promptly surrounded by police.
Delighted to be involved again at
@Wimbledon
for
@BBCSport
this year.
It will be my third year of TV commentary at the Championships but my first in a new role, presenting the wheelchair finals on the closing weekend.
BBC, home of

Incredible: Fulham players climb into crowd to celebrate goal with 13-Year Old fan Rhys Porter who has cerebral palsy and suffered savage online abuse after posting footage of himself playing football. Beautiful moment of empathy and human kindness 🙌
I'm a bit biased, but I always feel this handover to the next host city should only be done at the end of the
#Paralympics
, as part of the Paralympic closing ceremony.
Nice to be on the plane to Tokyo with some
@ParalympicsGB
team members.
As I was dozing following a lovely Eton Mess dessert,
@WillBayleytt
was doing stretches in the aisle with a rubber band.
Which is why he’s a Paralympic champion and I’m not.
On Tuesday afternoon, a lady called Jan called me from the
#DWP
office in Blackpool to tell me my
#PIP
decision has been overturned.
This means I don't need to go to a tribunal and am now able to stay on the
#Motability
Scheme and keep my car for at least another 10 years.
'Tis true. I'm very honoured and chuffed to have been named on the 2018
@ShawTrust
#DisabilityPower100
list.
Thanks to everyone who has helped me get to this point.
See how unremarkable I am compared to some of the other amazing people on the list, here:
Congratulations to
@AndyStevenson81
, the series producer for
@Channel4
's coverage of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Paralympics, who has been named on the
@ShawTrust
Disability Power 100 List, an annual publication of the 100 most influential disabled people in the UK 👏👏👏
I’m keen to gather people’s experiences of the dreaded
#PIP
process, in order to share them with the
@DisabilityAPPG
and set about trying to change the system.
Please use the hashtag
#PIPstories
to make it easier to collate and browse through the messages.
Thank you.
Just been talking to
@TVNaga01
on
@bbc5live
about my golf.
I claimed that I have a “very good” short game which is bound to bite me on the bum next time I play.
As I said this morning on
@bbc5live
, thanks to
@Tanni_GT
who’s been a joy to work with.
And the entire production team, some of whom have been here since before the Olympics.
And the people of Tokyo, who are just as friendly, kind and generous as everyone says they are.
Arigato.
After nearly 5 years, today is my last day
@WeAreWhisperTV
.
I look forward to you all seeing what we’ve already filmed for
@C4Paralympics
and the brilliant stuff that is still being made. (1/2)
Very pleased to have made my Wimbledon commentary debut, watching Diego Schwartzman vs Benoit Paire.
They will play to a finish tomorrow afternoon on Court 2.

Workman appears suddenly on a platform outside my window at the Holiday Inn.
I wasn’t expecting him, but he sure wasn’t expecting to see someone typing with their feet.
@WestminsterWAG
It’s getting worse isn’t it Sarah, in every area of life.
I was reading this awful columnist the other day who seemed to be unpleasantly attacking Meghan Markle in a national newspaper for no good reason.
We're extremely sad to tell you that our amazing Dad, John Stevenson, died on Monday 23rd May, after over 20 years with blood cancer and a variety of other nasty spin-off conditions and having courageously gone through numerous cycles of chemotherapy and other medical treatments.
First time on screen for BBC Final Score today, at
@TheGillsFC
vs
@SheffieldUnited
.
Thanks to all the crew at the Priestfield & in Salford and to
@NiallMGray
for these behind the scenes shots.
@afneil
He did everything he could (mainly by foul means) to ensure he couldn’t lose.
And he’s lost.
The people and the law have spoken.
It’s wonderful.
Hazel Irvine having a huge pile of research notes in front of her is so Hazel Irvine.
Her prep & knowledge means she makes it all look so light and easy. Utterly brilliant.
A little boy sat side-on to me has just said to his Dad:
“Look, that man only has one arm”
And now I don’t want to turn round for fear of blowing the kid’s mind.
And if any disabled people out there want to get into the TV Sport industry, then maybe
@C4Paralympics
and
@WhisperFilmsUK
at Tokyo 2020 could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
Get in touch!
Up and running, doing a few pre-recorded interviews down the line with some of the
@ParalympicsGB
squad.
Our little
@bbc5live
studio in Tokyo is feeling nice & cosy.
Astonishing that so many national newspapers can name and print photos of people questioned by police before they're even charged with anything, let alone found guilty.
I hope the couple take the papers responsible to the cleaners.
I've been watching a lot of Wheelchair Rugby League over the last few days and I'm certain it's going to make a big impact at the
@RLWC2021
.
Really looking forward to commentating on some of the action for
@BBCSport
and
@WeAreWhisperTV
.
A big thank you to
@IevaPoriete
for altering the shoulders/sleeves (at very short notice!) on a number of branded polo shirts & tops ahead of me working on screen for the
@GolfChannel
in the States.
Oh Murray.
What a life. What a voice.
What a lovely man.
Meeting you was one of the greatest privileges of my career.
You saying ‘faaantastic’ (as only you could) when you saw my adapted car was a magic moment that I’ll never forget.
#MurrayWalker
It’s been a thrill and an honour to be part of the
@bbc5live
team broadcasting the Tokyo
@Olympics
.
A team of brilliant people working so hard in Tokyo, Salford and in various UK studios, offices, spare bedrooms & even ‘caves’!
But my
@Tokyo2020
is not over…
Having worked towards it for 5 years, all being well, it’s now only 2 weeks until I fly to Tokyo for the
@Paralympics
and 3 weeks until the Opening Ceremony.
Lots of testing, temperature-taking, form-filling and app downloading to come before then!
After a nice recce today, I’m very much looking forward to working for
@BBCSport
at
@Wimbledon
over the next couple of weeks.
Wonderful to see some old friends again too.
It really is one of the most pristine and perfect sporting venues you’ll see.
@afneil
I would love this to be true, so we can all venture into the 3rd November overnighter, safe in the knowledge that it can be a reckless, carefree Jack Daniels-fuelled party, full of relief and joy.
Rather than an all-night penalty shootout, racked with fear and anxiety.
Thanks to all the golfers who answered my questions this week and the press team who lined them all up for me.
And to the whole
@5liveSport
squad and
@Tmcd1980
for making it happen.
#TheOpen
usually delivers and certainly did this year.
Lifelong memories created.
Hopefully the ongoing publicity around Ellie on Strictly, will make more people realise she’s never won an ‘Olympic’ gold medal, but she has won plenty of ‘Paralympic’ ones.
@EllieSimmonds1
is an incredible person. Who can win Olympic Gold Medals with her eyes closed. Literally. Catch our chat on a new episode of People, Just People only on
@audibleuk
Thank you to everyone who made my
@BBCSport
@Wimbledon
experience so special.
And now I’m thrilled to be moving onto
@TheOpen
where I’ll be interviewing the players for
@5liveSport
as they finish their rounds.
I can’t wait to work at an event I’ve loved since I was a child.
Thoroughly enjoying my debut at
@TheOpen
for
@5liveSport
, interviewing the players behind the 18th green.
Privileged to speak to Paul Casey and Jordan Spieth among many others.
#TheOpen
I’ll be presenting the
@bbc5live
/
@BBCSounds
coverage of the
@Paralympics
, live from Tokyo, alongside
@Tanni_GT
.
We’ll have a dedicated breakfast programme every day from 6am until 6.30am UK time with all the news and interviews. Then coverage throughout the day.
@ParalympicsGB
@CawthornforNC
It’s a little bit late for that.
Your rhetoric and the rhetoric of some of your colleagues (and your outgoing President) has whipped up the violent frenzy happening outside the Capitol right now.
An unexpected but very enjoyable Centre Court commentary debut, alongside the wonderful
@Annabel_Croft
, watching Martina Hingis & Kim Clijsters win their Invitational doubles match.
A pretty memorable way to spend an evening.
My more serious point is that people talk about Andy Murray’s metal hip as if it’s a disabling thing that he’s had to ‘get over’, ‘fight through’ etc.
When actually it’s been a completely ENabling thing, allowing him to carry on playing (and winning).
While Theresa May was dancing and Boris Johnson was having another affair, their government was deciding that I am no longer eligible for the higher rate mobility element of PIP.
@NickBryantNY
Definitely positive news, but also a bit of Murdoch chicanery?
Tactically moving behind the winner when it’s become clear Trump is finished, rather than the moral move of deserting him months/years ago?
Back at
@WhisperFilmsUK
tomorrow after 5 weeks away.
While I’ve been gone they’ve added a new office, a new upstairs floor at the main office and an entirely new event
#WSeries
And only 483 days until the Tokyo 2020
@C4Paralympics
Really great feeling to be able to say we made an 'award-winning' podcast.
Thanks to the
#Webbys
judges, the brilliant teams at
@Paralympics
@Allianz
&
@LiveWireSport
for having faith in me as host, and to the superb athletes I interviewed.
Listen here 🎧:
Christmas morning arrives.
Listen to
#TheOpen
with us on
@5liveSport
over the next 4 days.
I’ll be interviewing the players at the end of their rounds, from our position overlooking the 1st tee and 18th green at St Andrews.
(This one’s for you Dad x)
A big thank you to floor manager supreme
@MrsBatho
and all the crew/production team on the wheelchair tennis broadcasts this weekend.
Kept me on the straight & narrow!
Thanks so much to all at
@LCFC
and BBC colleagues including
@vksparks
&
@nicolc61
for helping to make this happen today. And to photographer
@wattsgoingon
.
And most of all, to Brendan Rodgers of course. Proper gent.
He loved seeing the 1992 photo.
Doing the first sort-through of Mum’s stuff.
Emotional rollercoaster.
Then we find paper cuttings of some fundraising done for me in 1992.
A ‘Reading player’ came to present the cheque.
Never realised it was only ruddy Brendan Rodgers!
The Copper Box looks a picture ahead of the first match of the Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup.
Ireland vs Spain from around 1650.
I’m on commentary on the BBC Sport website and red button, alongside
@kylejamor87
@RLWC2021
@Irelandrl
@EspanaRL
Thanks to John & Steve from
@dsuksnowsport
and everyone at
@Chill_Factore
for a great evening and a brilliant experience.
Get yourself down to your local indoor ski centre!
The find of the
#Paralympics
so far.
They’ve taken a croissant and filled it with cream.
They’ve taken cream and surrounded it with a croissant.
It’s stupendous.
Quite stunned at the reaction to my tweet earlier about the top-knot knobhead.
That kind of thing is a more regular occurrence than I admit. Usually, like today, I can laugh it off or ignore it, but on occasions it gets me down.
Anyway, thanks for your support.
Shoutout to
@bennettjp
who has been covering the
#Lionesses
for several years. His support for women’s football and his brilliant video content has contributed to the squad reaching this period of mass attention.
First snooker commentary: watching the World no.1 and probably the best player ever.
Second snooker commentary:
watching the World no.2.
Wish me luck!
Have shadowed Phil Studd this afternoon and now really looking forward to making my
@eurosport
debut this evening from 8pm CET.
Two weeks ago, I was able to share the proud news that I had been named by the
@ShawTrust
in their
#disabilitypower100
list.
Today I'm sad & angry to report that the DWP have rejected my initial
#PIP
appeal. As things stand, this will mean I lose access to the
#Motability
scheme.
