Tonight, my friends and I started playing a second hand cricket board game. Thanks to the handwritten scorecards of the previous owners 15 years ago, we’ve tracked them down on Twitter and are now proposing an exhibition match at their local pub in Cuxham. This is beyond superb.

@michaelehughes I wore prosthetic arms as a child. One time going through Belfast Airport, the security staff asked my Mum what was in her suitcase. She blithely responded ‘Arms’. And was promptly surrounded by police.

On Tuesday afternoon, a lady called Jan called me from the #DWP office in Blackpool to tell me my #PIP decision has been overturned. This means I don't need to go to a tribunal and am now able to stay on the #Motability Scheme and keep my car for at least another 10 years.

We're extremely sad to tell you that our amazing Dad, John Stevenson, died on Monday 23rd May, after over 20 years with blood cancer and a variety of other nasty spin-off conditions and having courageously gone through numerous cycles of chemotherapy and other medical treatments.

Having worked towards it for 5 years, all being well, it’s now only 2 weeks until I fly to Tokyo for the @Paralympics and 3 weeks until the Opening Ceremony. Lots of testing, temperature-taking, form-filling and app downloading to come before then!

My more serious point is that people talk about Andy Murray’s metal hip as if it’s a disabling thing that he’s had to ‘get over’, ‘fight through’ etc. When actually it’s been a completely ENabling thing, allowing him to carry on playing (and winning).

Two weeks ago, I was able to share the proud news that I had been named by the @ShawTrust in their #disabilitypower100 list. Today I'm sad & angry to report that the DWP have rejected my initial #PIP appeal. As things stand, this will mean I lose access to the #Motability scheme.
