There are arguments for ditching masks. There are arguments for keeping them. But giving individuals the choice doesn’t make sense. They’re not like seatbelts. They principally protect other people. If you’re cautious or have health concerns, it’s what others wear that matters.

The tragedy of Lee Hurst is he was the funniest panellist on the genuinely quite good They Think It’s All Over. Hard not to conclude that hatred has robbed him of his comedic spark. Tbf, Bill Hicks spoke highly of the power of hate, but their targets were a million miles apart.
