In an effort to make Twitter a tiny bit nicer, I've set up an account for my daughter's ever-increasing portfolio of artwork. We'll upload at least one new drawing a day, so please consider following the account; she loves the positive reinforcement.

Astrid's first set of pictures for this account, including the self-portrait we're using as her avatar. Many more to follow. Most will be more detailed; as is often the case with children, once you give them what they want - in this case, Twitter exposure - they don't deliver.

I can’t believe Angela Rayner. First she buys a house, then she has the temerity to sell it 17 years later rather than stay in it for the rest of her life. And to add insult to injury, she didn’t even sell it for the price she paid for it.

Being able to buy my council house back in 2007 was a proud moment for me. I worked hard, saved and bought it by the book. I’m not ashamed - but I am angry that the Tories have since put the dream of a secure home out of reach for so many others. 🏡 🧵

8/ They say that it can't be fixed before their contract ends and they don't think we'll pay them - which is a fair concern, I think, especially as we've been so obstinate about the final payment we owe.

7/ Their notice period is nearly up and we've made no progress in finding a replacement. And the outgoing firm are refusing to address the subsidence, rising damp and leaking roof.

There are arguments for ditching masks. There are arguments for keeping them. But giving individuals the choice doesn’t make sense. They’re not like seatbelts. They principally protect other people. If you’re cautious or have health concerns, it’s what others wear that matters.

The tragedy of Lee Hurst is he was the funniest panellist on the genuinely quite good They Think It’s All Over. Hard not to conclude that hatred has robbed him of his comedic spark. Tbf, Bill Hicks spoke highly of the power of hate, but their targets were a million miles apart.

@IanDunt Can some lefty lawyers get their act together and form a political party, please? I think a lot of us would vote for them.

@IanDunt He says “yeah, *I’ve* had a few” of the emails he’s also received from Britons asking him to help their relatives in Afghanistan with the same jaunty, casual joviality that I imagine he uses when discussing how many children he has. The state of him. And us for voting him in.

@RupertMyers Nothing very effectively; he's propped it up on the hinge side of the door. But then Raab and other Brexiters have never had a very good grasp of the principles of leverage.
