Half way into my weather internship at WOOD TV8! I’ve learned so much from Storm Team 8 while having fun too! Did some extensive research about lake effect snow, did some on camera work, helped create graphics and update climate data, and went on a boat a few times!

Eerily similar radar images of this mornings intense MCS and the derecho of 1998. Both packed a punch in West Michigan. Scary how the atmosphere can mimic previous events, even though this one was weaker, still noteworthy.

South Bend has gotten plenty of rain so far this month of July. Month-to-date rainfall right now is 4.64"! Normally, it is 2.37" at this point in July. We are over 2 inches of our "normal" July rainfall at this point in the month! Thankfully, our week ahead is mostly dry.

South Bend still has yet to hit 90 in July. Usually, we hit it 6 times in July, on average. Last time we did not hit 90 in July was in 2017. We hit it 23 times in 1901! We could possibly reach 90 on Wednesday (July 31st). We will see!
