We have reached a state now that being anti war is looked down upon as weakness . Yes, starting a war feels good in short run but without cost benefit analysis (of lives and money ) should we even get into a new war ?Don't we have enough problems at hand ?

I just can't stand surrogacy anymore.. It seems so devoid of humanity considering it is to bring forth a new human life on to earth..
I saw this video by a woman who was born from surrogacy and hates it.

fwiw many Chinese colleagues of mine have children only after 30 as they are busy studying before that age. Come 35 they have a child and by 36,38 they have another . Sure they will be qualified as high risk pregnancies but they seem to be doing fine .
@hollowearthterf
@KomanderXander
The main downside I think to having children later is that your natural energy also starts to go down after a certain age and taking care of young children while dealing with your low energy levels doesn’t help. Plus there is always this responsibility of taking care of parents .

A part of me is extremely optimisitc about India : young, driven people etc.
A part of me is extremely pessimistic about India : bad laws, infrastructure, reservations etc..
Time will tell how India will fare...

Women used to adjust as they didn’t have financial options . They were specifically married off early before they could develop any skill set or independence, now that women are getting married later ,they are challenging existing norms and demanding respect which is irking some

I only say that Indian state is bad but Indians are some of the warmest people you will meet . An Indian American colleague once said he was surprised that his Indian family still thought of him as Indian. But I get where you are coming from . Happy 4th !

Obama for a brief moment connected with this sentiment when he talked about fatherlessness in black communities . Instead of expanding this to include all families , he backed off his comments

Indian parenting style evolved in joint families where grandparents acted as cushions to the immature parents.
Now that its all nuclear family, there is no one to protect the kids. sad state of affairs.
@wrathofgnon
Working in a high tech job is good when you don't have parenting responsibilities and are young.But as you age and the demands on you increase while the effort to be up to date also increases there is a lot of stress in these jobs .. all that high salary doesn't seem attractive
Oakdale CA students throughout the district are refusing to wear masks. High schoolers have been sent to the gym and filled it with more unmasked students on their way.

To check how a generation did, ask their children. I see lot of hate for boomers from their children and that says something . People I think just went through the motions of their lives but the current generation resists it .

A lot of these are owned by Americans across political spectrum and ethnicities.. Why don't politicians understand their plight?The hair salons, nail salons, restaurants all are on verge of permanent closure..

Nice thread .. as you said many women may want to be trad wives but it certainly is a gamble depending on the husband one gets .. I am seeing this shift in India as well where women study as a backup plan for when things don’t work out .
It’s my sense that Mexicans have maximum fun in California.
They are grateful to be in California, blue collar work doesn’t affect them and having large community of family and friends makes them generally cheerful.
Mexicans show what’s possible with large TFR.
I go to parks in California, there are a lot of Mexican immigrant families having birthday parties for kids, family stuff. White Californians complain about politics, taxes, and etc, and those are legitimate criticisms, but often they also don’t use the parks and trails.

It is weird that these men don’t see what their mothers or aunts went through . Sacrificing their lives for the families , depending on the husband or son for money and being extremely subservient (or alternately dominating ) is not healthy for either women or their children .

Asking someone to think positive while they don't want to or can't is like saying someone to reduce their body temperature while they have fever ..
It is a form of cruelty disguised as kindness.
Even my grandmother knew this and somehow it’s seen as un women like by present generation trads.
Money will always be important whether we like it or not .
If there’s one thing that women need to understand it’s to never give up their money. You don’t necessarily need to work a 9 to 5 to do that, but whatever set up you have, you need to have your own money. This is capitalism, money is your salvation, there’s no way around it.
Since it has become abundantly clear that I won’t be achieving any sort of great fame or success, the only things I need to focus on in my life are leisure and family and of course my health .
