@lolacoaster Called the vet because our dog’s stomach was so distended he couldn’t sit down, whining in pain. Sent to emergency vet due to being after hours. Paid $300 up front for that dog to let out a series of enormous farts in the waiting area and then prance back to the car.

@Krasnostein I can sometimes solve a problem over telehealth in 15 minutes instead of making a mom pack up baby, find childcare for siblings, schlep everything to my office, etc. It literally saves us all time and insurance companies money.

@sbearbergman My grandparents never wanted to impose so they never called and rarely visited. Instead of it being a kindness it kept us from having a real relationship. Time with loved ones, caring for loved ones, being with loved ones is never an imposition.

@Doctorsbfc The problem is that they often do not acknowledge that lack of knowledge and fail to refer out. The result is families getting incorrect and often conflicting information which leads to a failure to meet breastfeeding goals.

@alyssaharad I had a client who was told by her OBGYN that her baby will now be born with protection against Covid since she tested positive. So she told her friends not to get vaccinated so their babies will be protected. We have to be so careful and specific about what we say as providers.

@makesmilk I tell my moms if baby has to decide between eating and breathing they will choose breathing and come off. Showing them that baby can adjust positioning helps too.
