Not one of these narrations addresses minority Muslim situations where the masjid is the only Muslim space (apart from the home, and for some women including) in a whole town and the only space a Muslim can pray undisturbed. Praying is fardh and having a space to do it is vital.

@sturdyAlex @mckinlay_liz I heard an Italian politician on BBC news last night blaming the EU for why they hadn't maintained that bridge properly. Bridges aren't collapsing in Spain, Portugal and other poorer parts of Europe. That suggests reason is closer to home.

@SaifAbuAsmaa @imsotiredman123 There are other good reasons to allow women to be doctors, not just the Mahram issue; it also allows a woman to discuss female medical issues with a knowledgeable woman, to not be alone with a man or require her husband's presence, and assures that the profession is female aware.

@Jessicae13Eaton I know someone whose daughter is in a MH unit and broke her ankle recently, probably while being restrained. Nurse and doctor dismissed it but an X-ray confirmed it more than a week later. (Not sure if her sex or her MH/autism is the issue but...)

@_shireenahmed_ No, it's the same organisation and nowadays funded the same way, ie. through the British licence fee (it used to be government funded). Some overseas BBC operations are commercially funded but not the World Service.

@thelorryist @Fugstarnagar The problem nobody admits to is that it's unlikely that the drivers who have left will come back. It was made clear that Brexit happened to get rid of them. Plus on the continent, even though distances are longer, conditions and facilities are much better.

@bbcrb @BeckyWhin I drive trucks like that (not production trailers but the same type of tractor unit). DAF and MAN trucks have the same gearbox selector, twist one way for forward and the other for reverse, but forward and reverse are the opposite way round.
