Significant brain drain occurring as we speak: My cousin and her bf just graduated Waterloo. Every single domestic student they know (incl. themselves) has either relocated to the States or is planning to. These kids are ONLY considering US jobs. Higher pay, LCOL.

@CoachBalto It's not safe design. Vehicles crash into central islands of roundabouts, they crash into neighborhood traffic circles, so a vehicle could easily crash into the pipes and if/when they do - the occupants will likely be seriously hurt or could die. There are safer designs w/o DFOs.

@SeanFraserMP Bonus Councillor Holyday clip. I would simply not buy a giant block of one kind of cheese and then leave it sitting around forever, insisting that it's untouchable, but that's just me.

Every time you hear someone from the government say FHBs, replace it with "new money to bailout homeowners". We don't have an FHB crisis. We have a supply crisis. We have a cost crisis. $40k doesn't even cover the DCs on a lot of units. Let alone a down payment.

Love that Councillor Matlow is pushing on this It’s not actually about drinking, it’s about continuing to use public space bylaws to regulate class differences between land owners and everyone else. Drinking is just an easy proxy, rife with moral panic.

Allowing responsible adults to enjoy a drink together in a park is normal in cities around the world. A “pilot” is absurd. And it’s wrong to give councillors the power to pick which park, in which neighborhood, they’ll accept it. No big signs, no gatekeepers, let’s legalize it.

I’m not an LRT station design aficionado like some of you little freaks, but what’s the purpose of the double height atrium? “Visual Prominence” or something? These stations needed towers on top. They aren’t just in an MTSA. They ARE the MTSA.

Huge win for North York. Big win for amazing people like @LanrickBennett @BicycleMayorTO , Walk Toronto, @AlisonVStewart @CycleToronto , Park People, The Centre For Active Transportation, Toronto Field Naturalists and many others who took action and made change happen.
