Yesterday morning my lovely Nan passed away. In the afternoon I went for a run and this heron stayed where it was so peacefully. Me and my Nan would always look out for herons when walking her dog every Sunday. I'm not saying it's not not a coincidence but it was powerful.

Getting excited about my new internship at the Hugh Miller Museum @N_T_S @sgsah @EdinburghUP with this excellent study of Scotland's role in the slave trade. Alston has really demonstrated how "normal" highlanders contributed and benefited from Empire.
