Joyous news! In Jan, oneof my besties was in ICU with covid, pregnant. Baby was delivered 10 weeks early. It was the scariest of times. But mum & baby doing great. Yesterday was this precious little girl's christening.
I'm so in love with this little miracle ๐ญ

Today I did a thing that terrified me. Sang acapella in my mother tongue of igbo at the end of my talk to 1,500-odd people at

Gutted to have covid while pregnant - something I'd been v. anxious about the possibility of. But thankful for being triple vaxxed (had my booster at 20 weeks). I'm a few days in and only mild symptoms - hope it stays this way ๐๐ฟ Antenatal advice on what now seems patchy though!

Me and the boys are home from

That's it. 80,000 words. First draft done, with help from these amazing books. If anyone ever asks whether it's a good idea to write a book in 6 months alongside a full-time job, a toddler & a global pandemic, tell them to just sit down and have a cup of tea.

Mumโs day off: A THREAD
So today, I was very much looking forward to a day off. Iโm absolutely exhausted. I had piled up books to read and TV shows to watch.
And breathe... Out of office on. A whole week of no work meetings, no trustee meetings, no church meetings, no book things. Just quality time with these boys ๐

Wonderful to see so many tributes to Joel Edwards from right across the spectrum of the Church. A lesson to all of us to build friendships across "divides", without making a big deal of it.

Pinching myself that

One of the hardest things about this is we're utterly powerless. Years away from an election. A whole nation being gaslighted. Where is justice, integrity or truth? God help us.
It's publication day! And the book is being reprinted already due to the demand. So THANK YOU to all those who have bought a copy. I am overwhelmed and so grateful. And I want to say a few more thank yous...

My gosh, this is devastating/beautiful. All the more powerful for it being a politician showing vulnerability. This is the stuff that matters, not the pettiness and unkindness we've been seeing in the election campaign so far.

A thought: the UK black hair market is worth an estimated ยฃ4.2bn. Black women spend six times more on hair products than other races. So why have I never in my 35 years seen a black hair ad on TV? This would be a step towards dispelling the myth of the European beauty standard.
Wasn't going to share this new fanmail but doing so in light of this Spectator article. Sorry, but if you think the Church should ignore racial justice and occupy itself with simply "saving souls" then a) you misunderstand the radical nature of the gospel and b)... ๐งต

Calling for a ceasefire may be naive, but it's all we've got. Unfortunately, the world is lacking in globl, moral, wise leadership that can work out the details of bringing an end to this nightmare. In the meantime, I'll never choose silence over calling for peace.

Struck by the diversity - especially of age (including babies!) - of the members of the public at the

Watching the funeral with a four year old = a strange mix of profound questions and toddler logic ... "Why did the Queen die? Can she still talk? Is that the Queen there? How can she die if she's a girl? ๐ค TURN IT OFF. IT'S BORING!"
