Joyous news! In Jan, oneof my besties was in ICU with covid, pregnant. Baby was delivered 10 weeks early. It was the scariest of times. But mum & baby doing great. Yesterday was this precious little girl's christening. I'm so in love with this little miracle 😭 #proudgodmother

Gutted to have covid while pregnant - something I'd been v. anxious about the possibility of. But thankful for being triple vaxxed (had my booster at 20 weeks). I'm a few days in and only mild symptoms - hope it stays this way 🙏🏿 Antenatal advice on what now seems patchy though!

A thought: the UK black hair market is worth an estimated £4.2bn. Black women spend six times more on hair products than other races. So why have I never in my 35 years seen a black hair ad on TV? This would be a step towards dispelling the myth of the European beauty standard.

Like many from former colonies, my feelings about the monarchy are complicated. But I'm realising how much the Queen meant to my whole family - all over the world. And I'm proud of both my parents for all they've achieved, which led to them both meeting her on separate occasions.

Struck by the diversity - especially of age (including babies!) - of the members of the public at the @StPaulsLondon service. Considering it was a self-selecting group of people who queued up for tickets, I'd have expected the congregation to look a little different...

Watching the funeral with a four year old = a strange mix of profound questions and toddler logic ... "Why did the Queen die? Can she still talk? Is that the Queen there? How can she die if she's a girl? 🤔 TURN IT OFF. IT'S BORING!" Sigh. #queensfuneral

Update on this: about half of the houses on the street have joined. We've coordinated shopping trips, laughed and found new connections. Have spoken more to my neighbours in 24 hours than I have in a year. #COVID19

Does that mean there are now a couple of free spaces on the pilot scheme...? Asking for a friend who's had to rearrange everything for 10 days because their toddler, who hasn't got covid, has to self-isolate...
