in 1907 as a boy sailor and was a Warrant Officer Gunner in HMS MALAYA at

. In 1941 he was Captain of HMS DORSETSHIRE & directly assisted in sinking the Bismarck.
Sad to attend my old boat, HMS TALENT’s decommissioning today, along with her sister HMS TRENCHANT. Also a great chance to celebrate their collective operational service of over 65 years, and the fantastic people who served.

On this date (15th November) in 2017 the Argentinian submarine 'ARA San Juan' was lost in the South Atlantic along with her entire crew of 43 men and one woman. Rest in peace brothers and sister. Resurgam.
