Lily Allen reveals she got rid of her dog after it cost her a fortune by eating her and her children's passports and visas - which also prevented the kids seeing their father for months
One of my heroes. He landed on Sword Beach, fought across Normandy with the 12th Devons, was in the Ardennes & also landed at Hamminkeln.
Unfortunately, this morning at the age of 95 he passed away.
Stand easy, Grandad.
The only joke I've been peddling out every Trafalgar Day since 2015.
Not many people know that Nelson was 5' 6" in real life.
His statue in Trafalgar Square is 17'4"
That's a Horatio of around 3:1
I couldn't upload these whilst I was in the Falklands as the Wi-Fi wasn't good enough, but, now I have returned to a constant depressing news cycle online, I feel like everybody needs to see some penguins living their best life π«π°
I don't think the accounts spewing hatred and bile have realised that the more they slate the

A friend of mine in Southsea just found these under his floorboards, whilst pulling them up!
So begins a quest to work out who they may have belonged to / where they need to be homed now!
A girl went onboard HMS Victory at 8 & was bought a book on Horatio Nelson.
14 yrs later she went on Mastermind. Specialist subject? His life & career.
20 yrs later she's starting a naval history dissertation as part of a History MA.
Take kids to historical places. It sticks.
Every time I post a selfie I get abuse from random people on here (because god forbid people be allowed to wear make up π€£), but for once I managed to do my face and not utterly cock it up, so sod the grumps π€·ββοΈ
A girl visited HMS Victory age 8 & was bought a book on Horatio Nelson.
She writes, has given talks on naval history for people including the RN & USNA, films documentaries & sits on council for a number of naval history societies.
Take kids to historical places.

MA passed with Merit.
After being stalked & the trial for it, a house move, COVID shutting the archives I need (still shut), stuck on a ship because plague, work chaos, a health issue, a PTSD diagnosis, changing jobs, & a concussion before the deadline.
I'll take it ππΎπ₯°

Firstly, there are many women globally with Unlimited Master's tickets, and every single one of them is more intelligent than you.
Secondly, this is a 'ship', not a 'boat'.
Finally, there are people still missing in the water. Don't be a bellend.
People who refer to the RNLI as 'a taxi service for illegals' don't deserve nice things. I'll die on this hill if need be.
People have no care for humanity, and it's so very sad to see.
I had all my naval history threads/podcasts in one place, so I could find them easily, then accidentally deleted it.
And so without further ado...

Today was the first day since I got an indefinite restraining order against my stalker that I have visited Exeter β¨οΈwithout issueβ¨οΈ
Last Christmas was a struggle. Today = no panic attack in the car park, no walking around looking over my shoulder. No vom.
It's been lovely.

Not the same, but I had a procedure this year and was told "your cervix doesn't have pain receptors" by a male Dr... which was absolute BS π€£ ended up needing 4 local anaesthetic injections.
Was granted the rank of Master [of Arts] finally today. I do sit on two naval history society councils also, sorry Anakin.
Thanks

It's that time again... Trafalgar Day! βοΈ
Today marks the 215th anniversary of this naval battle, in which the British fleet, under the command of Horatio Nelson (and later our boy Collingwood) beat the combined fleets of France & Spain, off Cape Trafalgar.

I'm 34 in 2 days. Life isn't where I thought it'd be (cheers to a stalker for literally taking years away from me) but when I think about climbing mountains, travelling to epic places for work/fun & meeting so many lovely people through history it's not all bad π₯°βοΈ

Just going to remind people that Nelson actually had a variety of nationalities & religions serving in his Navy.

No, of course it wouldn't.

Someone in a group yesterday said I couldn't be classed as a historian (in the link shared about my talk) as I have no "historical research credentials" - I don't have a PhD, I am a MA student, I make no secret of that.
