My #WeekendProject was repairing, gently restoring and setting up this Admiralty Pattern 491 #sextant by Henry Hughes & Son of London. It must be at least 70 years old. It's now in pretty fair condition. Still needs a pick and its own key, and the box still needs a little work.

@RogerReadwinUK @UKdefUS @RoyalNavy That's a Batch 1 T22. The Batch 2 ships had a bower and a sheet anchor, but the matching port and starboard anchors of a Batch 1 can be seen here. So - Battleaxe, Broadsword, Brazen or Brilliant. Definitely the Corinth Canal.

We were privileged to have Mr Huw Jones as our pilot today on what is probably his last pilotage before retirement. He is a friend of the ship - the pilot who brought us out of 3 Basin at the start of our journey, and someone who has seen us safely in and out of Pompey many times
