Gen X guy who finally rejected the gay lifestyle and now gladly submits to the teachings of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. Gab:

If only so many guns didn’t grow up in broken homes, without their gun fathers, they might be less violent & contribute more to making society safe, stable, & moral.
Does anyone recall a brief period during the pandemic when sea shanties became popular? Coworkers claim that happened, I’ve been accused of being “in denial.”
@CatholicSmark
I am a celibate same sex attracted male, albeit one who doesn't struggle with Church teaching on my intrinsically disordered inclination. I think the papal claimant's remarks are totally fine. They don't "impugn my dignity." It's no big deal.
Don’t mess with Ukrainian Byzantine Catholics and their holy water on the feast of the Epiphany.
(Found this 1968 Chicago Tribune article while researching Epiphany parish)
Today marks the one year anniversary of Cupich's "Novus Ordo ONLY on First Sundays" Traditiones Custodes policy, a day when many of us leave the Roman Rite, or the archdiocese, sometimes the state of Illinois, to validly fulfill our Sunday obligation
@PillarCatholic
That Blase Cupich will experience conversion, acquire supernatural faith, & profess belief in the Real Presence of the Eucharist
Lord, hear our prayer
@CardinalBCupich
Ramadan is not a “holy month.“ May is the month of Our Lady. But you omit any mention of the Blessed Virgin Mary, or Jesus Christ, in this video.
I watched the full Barron-LaBeouf interview on YouTube last night. Extraordinary. Was 1h 20m long and worth sitting through. Kudos to Fr Barron for keeping interjections/interruptions to a minimum & just letting Shia talk. Thank you St Pio for interceding for his conversion!

@consciousphilos
He did not intend or will suffering, but He must permit it, because He is love, He made us to love Him, and love requires freedom, including the freedom to reject love. You can’t force someone to love you; that’s called rape.
@CWBChicago
This is what happens when a culture chooses to embrace moral degeneracy & delude itself into thinking there’ll be no consequences if 80% of a community’s babies are born to unwed mothers
@ArchCordileone
Thank you for your pastoral, compassionate approach. This is what a father must do for his children, what a shepherd must do for his flock. May God bless you!

Once the largest US parish (45k). Once the largest elementary school on earth (5k). A priest at St Stan's invented the bulletproof vest.
You’d think a revival that inspires young Catholics to not sleep in on Sunday, to wake up early, dress up, drive (often with their many children) to offer adoration, thanksgiving, atonement, & petition to God in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass would be praised & encouraged
@FrEdwardLooney
@nataliepucillo
Maybe we should let subsidiarity play out here & she should approach the priest one-on-one first to reconcile this, before pulling a Karen and speaking to his manager?
Sexagesima Sunday

of St Eulalia
The Shrine Altar of the Seven Holy Founders of the Servite Order in Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica in Chicago
All your life, your parents' lives, you grandparents’ lives, your ancestors' lives going back centuries, it's been a mortal sin to eat meat on Fridays. Until one Friday it suddenly isn't. How that must have shaken the faith of Catholics & opened up so much doubt ☹️
@jmalanchar1
@father_rmv
A priest stands in persona Christi Capitis and represents Christ the Bridegroom to the Church within and without the liturgy. It is intrinsically impossible for a homosexual to do so.
@CardinalBCupich
@americamag
The sensus fidelium rejected the Freemason-designed liturgy associated with the Second Vatican Council. You are closing parishes & schools, not opening them.
@CardinalBCupich
So this is where the laity’s Annual Appeal donations go? International trips, during a pandemic? One week after hirelings announced 46 parishes to merge or close July 1?
@Goalisheaven1
I went thru an atheist phase at that age. My parents didn’t care. They said, “You live under our roof? You play by our rules” & I had to go to Mass.
@matt_angelone
LOL @ "Also, no one was ever fat." That cracked me up, but it's true. My family has home movies going back decades & it's jarring, even as recently as the early 80s, a vacation at Disney World, to see how "flat stomached" Americans USED to be
114 years ago today, Fr James Bourke died, just a year after his ordination. I don't know anything about him. But someone loved him and his brief priesthood enough to have this magnificent tombstone carved in his memory

@ICKSP
God bless the Institute. May Christ strengthen Canon Talarico to persevere until the defeat of His enemies & the glorious restoration.
Feast of the Dedication of St Michael the Archangel (Michaelmas)
St Michael, Old Town, Chicago
Est 1852
Destroyed by the Great Chicago Fire of 1871
Relocated and rebuilt 1873
Today we drove to ICKSP’s oratory at St Joseph in Hammond, IN. It’s a block from the state line and Chicago ArchD-Gary Diocese border. Half the license plates in the parking lot were from Illinois. Inside was overflowing with young families.

@CrisisMag
A male who sexually preys on minors who are also male is still a homosexual. He is attracted to other males. That’s what homosexuality is.
Cupich denies Tridentine mass permission to 4 of the 7 parishes offering it; Only Cantius, maybe St Peter’s (Volo) authorized for 1-2 years, ICKSP status unknown; 4 parishes permitted to replace TLM w/ Novus Order in Latin, ad orientem
After the banal homily which included trying to teach the congregation (audience?) a Spanish song, he sat down in silence for a few minutes. Then arose, stood in center of sanctuary, lifted up his chasuble & showed off his socks to laughter.
@RCAnnaKate
But nobody looks askance at Olympic athletes for devoting countless hours to training, limiting their diet, giving up a "normal" social life and relationships, etc.......
“Priest” announced his brother & sister-in-law were bringing up “the gifts.” When they reached the foot of the altar, “priest” took out his smartphone & they took a selfie.
@PadreInAtlanta
@MModsiw
Encouraging mortal sins that cry to Heaven for vengeance and may result in eternal damnation is the opposite of loving your neighbor.
Pentecost Thursday
Feast of St Anthony of Padua
St Anthony of Padua, Bridgeport, Chicago, 1913
Established for German Catholics in 1873, St Anthony's stood at McGregor & Hanover (now 24th & Canal in Chinatown). The building was demolished shortly after these photos were taken
And at what point does all that ad-libbing invalidate the mass? Is it, “Well he got the consecration correct & sorta followed the general outline” considered “good enough?”
The Nicene Creed was not said. The priest asked the audience to affirm their baptismal vows & reply “I do” as he asked 3 questions. (“Do you believe blah blah blah…”)
2nd Sunday of Lent

So his/your morality ultimately comes down to, “Everyone is their own God and their own Pope with their own magisterium. Do whatever you want.”
@johnntremain
@rioiiano
And it doesn’t drive a block, stop, wait, drive another block, repeat. And no human waste on the floors. No bodily secretions on the seating. Surfaces you need to grab or grasp aren’t oily.
Before the “prayers of the faithful” the “priest” announced, “I’m going to break a rule here” & instructed the audience to sing the chorus of the Spanish song from his homily instead of saying, “Lord, hear our prayer”
