Caminante Wanderer is reporting that Pope Francis received a document from ultra Modernist clerics which would have SUPPRESSED the Latin Mass entirely but the pope REJECTED it
@Italian347
Good he held firm, bad he had a dramatic hissy fit and destroyed the game, I would say. He should have just insisted and worked it out, taken the game away for a while, etc.
@ShaneMcAuliffe1
This is legitimately one of the best homilies I’ve ever heard. It expresses the Catholic faith in a truly charitable way. True charity does not equal warm fuzzies. It’s about repentance before it’s too late.
@classicsgroyp
First AFPAC IV is a smash, then Doyle gets jealous and tries to dox everyone, then AOC calls Nick a white supremacist. I don’t know, pretty darn good week.
@PadreInAtlanta
This should not happen at a Catholic Mass and also should not be used to give a platform to a politician whose policies contradict Catholic doctrine.
These liturgy wars are serious more dramatic than Star Wars. The most nonsensical thing ever. You want to limit something that got souls to heaven from 600 to 1969? If I’m dying and I want extreme unction that will absolve my sins if I’m out of it, you want to say no? Unreal.
@LibertyHangout
This is simply an incorrect statement. The New Mass wholesale deleted prayers, postures, and other elements of the Tridentine Mass which existed since the time of the apostles, and added elements which have no liturgical tradition except in Protestantism 1/
@dcrosaryrally
This is a nonsensical, unhelpful article. Even if this applies to a small subset of boomers, even floating the idea of “leaving the Church” should be a non-negotiable. I’m done with the Rorate Caeli fear porn.
The Latin Mass was the glue that held Catholicism together, through the grace of God. It still holds a remnant of faithful Catholics together. It could do more, if only it were to be promoted.
@CatholicSat
If apostates and blasphemers are in the Communion of Saints, what is the point of trying to be in the Communion of Saints? If this is true and one could engage in any apostasy or blasphemy and still remain in the Communion of Saints, what’s the point of trying?
@CardinalBCupich
@Pontifex
Our birthright is the Tridentine Mass. We have a right to it and a right to pass it on to our children. It isn’t a caricature, it’s been sanctified and sanctifying for centuries.
@WeCrusaders
I meant to select masturbation. Assuming the worst instances of both, both are illicit and mortally sinful acts. But the action of intercourse is a natural act, in conformity with the natural law, whereas masturbation is not. So masturbation as unnatural would be the worse sin.
The
#Vatican
has released the document for Synod of Bishops in the Synod on Synodality.
It highlights "need" to "welcome...remarried divorcees, people in polygamous marriages, LGBTQ+ people, etc."
Calls for more female governance, possibility of female deacons & married priests.
@BishopZubik
What is the point of this message? Yes, those struggling with sexual sin are called to be a part of the Faith and to aid in their struggle. We are not to affirm them in their sin though. It’s clear that you have lost the Faith in posting something so ambiguously harmful.
@PadreInAtlanta
Most respectfully, Father, I am simply pointing out that this is inappropriate at Mass. The only Non-Catholic and hateful actions are allowing politicians to preach false doctrine at a Catholic Mass under the guise of “everyone is welcome” moral relativism. It’s damaging to souls
@KarlRadl
@RealAlexJones
This is part of the German-sympathetic viewpoint that I struggle with. Never under any circumstances can I condone murder or suicide. But I get the reasons for here. I can’t imagine what they had to deal with and I have no idea what I would have done.
@BWCACatholic
@ChristendomNow
It’s unbelievable the biased history we were taught, and now they’re trying to push it even further into merely another study in phenomenology. It’s ridiculous.
@AdrianFonze
1. Get a sack of blessed Miraculous Medals 2. Hand them out to everyone that will wear one. 3. Pray for them and have unabashed faith that Mary will take it from there.
Been seeing lots of converts entering the one true holy apostolic and Catholic Church this weekend. Congratulations to all! Christ is King and He is risen!
@Fr_Toby
Repent, Father. This is an affront to God and his Church and leading these souls astray into thinking that one can promote homosexuality and remain Catholic.
@Jolz_Aust
It’s over after the first sentence. Then you’re not Catholic. You either subscribe to the doctrines of faith or you don’t. Any departure from it takes you outside the Church. You either have to then change your subjective beliefs or don’t say that you’re Catholic.
This is your calling
@TridentineBrew
. A carb-, nutrient-, and vitamin-packed Doppelbock that maxes out at about 3.5-4% for going on a liquid only Lenten diet 👍👍
@pope_head
I didn’t expect this great of an outcome. The Lord truly works in mysterious ways. Possible that it’s like waaaaay before the game? Still amazing.
As someone who has made the turn to tradition gradually over the past two years,
@massoftheages
was big in solidifying my conviction to tradition and conversion to the TLM. I appreciate those videos and those behind the videos very much.
@americamag
Labeling someone L.G.B.T or anything else for that matter is relativistic nonsense, an implicit rejection of truth in favor of phenomenology, and contrary to the natural law. It’s an unfair and closed-minded characterization of the person.
@EMichaelJones1
But will priests like Fr. Jimmy Martin use this as an occasion to bless homosexual couples? Regardless of whether it can be interpreted in an orthodox way does it nevertheless cause scandal?
@BeardsonBeardly
It’s unbelievably sad. What a beautiful family. This could have been prevented if he only accepted the Catholic Church. I wish someone would have told him. Now, he’s irreversibly tampered with his body.
The difference with Mary Magdalene (to those who make that comparison) is that she sought forgiveness and repentance. These people seek “acceptance” - prideful affirmation of their sin.
@LibertyHangout
For example, ad orientem (which some will argue has always existed but it has not it depended on where the altar was in relation to the apse) and the shaking hands sign of peace. I would recommend this book: 2/
@jimbretzke
Father, respectfully, have you ever heard of voting to preserve the good? If a candidate is pro-life, as Trump was/is, how is voting for him not preserving the good? Pope Francis even has stated that abortion is of prominent importance. Your tweet is incorrect and misleading.
Retweeting because I’m seriously curious as to what a bullet pointed list of the “fruits of Vatican II” are. No one has been able to describe them to me except for resorting to nebulous phrases like “speak relevantly to culture.”
@ClassicalTheis
@metathomist
Can I get a bullet point list from somebody on the “good fruits” of Vatican II that don’t contain nebulous things such as “speak relevantly to the culture” whatever that means?
@gehringdc
You should not receive Holy Communion in the state of mortal sin You are in the state of mortal sin if you publicly advocate for others to break the Ten Commandments. Murder is a violation of the Ten Commandments. The Catholic Church (and Pope Francis) holds abortion to be murder
@JamesMartinSJ
Not the point. Most sins can be forgiven it doesn’t matter what they were. The problem with your original tweet was that this person was such a bad example of what a priest should be based on the proven allegations that he should not be held as an example.
@PetrusyaIYI
Yes, it’s the original Christian Church and Christianity is the only religion in the world which claims that God became a material being, a man, who lived among us, and can back that claim up with historical and scientific evidence.
@Pinesap3wasc
He’s in the queue. He’ll by Catholic by 2030. Thanks for the follow by the way my brother in Christ. Loved your spot on the Beardson show. ✝️
People in Cleveland, there is a Solemn High Latin Requiem Mass tomorrow at 7 pm for Pope Benedict XVI at St. Rocco’s in Cleveland. Members of the Cleveland Orchestra will be performing Mozart’s Requiem!
@MilitantThomist
Saying that the TLM reinforces any problem because it provides “aesthetic enjoyment,” even if it does, among its other benefits, is a major blind spot in your reasoning.
@frpatrickop
Why can’t we just do away with “Communion in the hand?” Why go through this? Why have to be vigilant against sacrilege of our own creation?
@TraditionAction
It’s all so disturbing, wrong, and sinful, but the question persisting in my mind when I see that second pic is why are they barefoot?
