@StandUp4Brexit
@andreajenkyns
More incoherent nonsense from my local mp. Speaks on behalf of an area she has no real connection with or understanding of and disregards constituents with a different point of view.
The passion and values shine through in each of these postcards
@DavidHarling1
especially good to see the next generation of learning disability nurses and future leaders coming through. Thank you to all of those people who have inspired them
A small request... the postcards are now available to download individually here: So, lets maintain the momentum - Choose a few, offer your own thank you to someone & share away!!! This is what a social movement for LD nursing looks like. ๐
@teamCNO_
This is Maxine, I don't think we have met. If we did meet I bet we would have lots to talk about, not least the admiration for the people and families we support. Happy Learning Disability Awareness Week Maxine!
I first met
@joann_kiernan
over 20 years ago (no way!). She is every bit as committed now, teaching the next generation of learning disability nurses and leading the brilliant team at Alder Hey Children's Hospital
@LDASCAlderHey
@AlderHey
Be like Joann!
Happy

to all of the fantastic nurses I have had the pleasure to work alongside over the years. The nurses who have worked hard to always do the right thing for the people we have the privilege to support
#RNLD
#RNLD100
We are very lucky to have some fantastic
@UKLabour
candidates across Leeds and West Yorkshire. We have an opportunity on July 4th for really strong local representation. It can only happen if we Vote and
#VoteLabour
@domjoly
My current Tory MP - the genuinely awful Andrea Jenkyns. Iโll be out every day for the next 42 days knocking on doors and delivering leaflets for our local Labour candidate
#VoteLabour
@LeedsEurope
@andreajenkyns
Andrea Jenkyns disregards and blocks constituents who disagree with her. I live in Morley, I was born and brought up here. She has no real connection with the area and very little understanding of it. The Morley she describes is not one I recognise.
One of the issues with the
#BMA
is that they seem to be so polarised in this that their position is unhelpful. It is really difficult to distinguish between petty grievances and genuine concern. It undermines public confidence and ironically patient safety
@Matt_L_Nash
There are many of us that see this play out time and time again and we really do appreciate your support for the wider NHS workforce. Thank you for speaking up in support of nurses ๐ Good luck to the lad
Happy Learning Disability Awareness week all! ๐ฅณ Did you know; AlderHey now has approx 7 Learning Disability nurses accross the Acute site ๐๐ป including our amazing consultant LD nurse Joann ...

One of the best things about a career in learning disability nursing is the people you meet. Clare has a real energy about her, she is led by her values and good fun to be around
@clareparkernhs
@DavidHarling1
@mossleySimon
Is Karen on Twitter? Why am I not following Karen? Karen is a Learning Disability Nurse and leader who I would gladly follow! Widely respected for her integrity and sensible, straight-forward approach why not be like Karen?
I haven't worked with
@timrbuck
but I have met him in the street (true story). He didn't offer me three words, but he did offer me a pint. So be like Tim๐A great guy with a great reputation as a caring and compassionate Learning Disability Nurse
Wonderful morning on the
#labourdoorstep
in Leeds South West and Morley with
@RachelReevesMP
to kickstart Labourโs National Campaign Weekend.
Thank you to everyone who joined us.
People want change and Labour will deliver it ๐น
I haven't met Chloe but we have now connected on Twitter!
@lnwh_chloe
I'll look forward to seeing Chloe's Tweets about her life as a Lead Nurse.
@DavidHarling1
@DrHuw
Itโs the opposite of that. It is someone proud to be a PA and who wants to be defined by what she is and not by what she isnโt. Seems fair enough to me
Back home after
#Week8
#Run1
#CouchTo5K
I ran for 28 minutes and I am feeling pretty proud of myself (and my daughter). Lots of
#LabourStakes
and Lamp-post signs around the village
A massive thank you to all of the
@UKLabour
members and volunteers across Leeds South West and Morley. They are working hard for Change on July 4th and are not taking anything for granted. If you want a
#Labour
government you must vote for one. Vote and
#VoteLabour
@MarkJSewards
As a Gildersome family it was lovely to invite our local
#Labour
candidate
@MarkJSewards
to join us at the Scarecrow Festival this afternoon. Our family will be voting for Change on July 4th
@UKLabour
@Leeds_Labour
Ruth works hard to raise the profile of learning disability nursing and is a go to person on sepsis awareness. Another learning disability nurse that is good fun to be around
@ruthypooey
@DavidHarling1
@TheRealSprigger
Whether working directly with people and families or shaping the services that support them, when learning disability nurses get it right they really get it right! There is much here that is ripe for the
#RNLD
harvest
@DavidHarling1
@dx_mighty
I understand and agree with lots of this. However, I am not comfortable with the tone of the wider conversation or with the disrespect shown to PAs and others. Some Drs have been unkind and elitist and I am not sure we canโt call that out. Honestly it is difficult to see past
Kate is a Health Visitor, her training as a Learning Disability Nurse adds huge value to her team when working with the most vulnerable children and families. Be like Kate
I agree with Abi you will need resilience and patience. Learning Disability Nursing is not an easy job and there are times when it will test you - but when you get it right, when you make a real difference to someone's life there is no other reward like it
Less than 2 weeks until the General Election ๐ณ๏ธ Encouraging to hear from people who have already returned Postal Votes for
@MarkJSewards
They know that if they want Change they have to vote for it. There is a long way to go and we can not take anything for granted

URGENT PLEA! Friends far and wide please act on & share the image below. This challenge has been posed for Ben Briggs to complete. Its a short notice thing (on purpose) so we hope you will support the cause. All money raised goes to the NHS Charities together fund
@PhilipBrayshaw
@mancunianmedic
I agree - however the online behaviour of some is abhorrent, it falls way below any acceptable professional standard and needs to be addressed.
Apologies if I have misunderstood the context here
People will know I'm not a fan of awards (except the
#BAPS
), but I am a massive fan of the work done to involve families in North Cumbria North East. This work was co-produced with families at every step and has made a real difference to them and their children. Well done ๐๐๐
Your postcard made me smile
@ElizabethMaushe
I know exactly what you mean. I have just spent some time remembering some of the people who have made my life richer. Through joy and through sadness. Always a privilege. Thank you Lizzy and thank you Matthew
#teamCNO
To celebrate LD week I made a postcard honouring someone who has made an impact to me. My postcard is dedicated to Matthew who sadly passed. He will be someone I will always remember and who inspires me everyday. He used to call me โElizabeth like Lilly the pinkโ ๐คฃ
#LDAW22
@DrMaxxC
Nurses are undervalued and underpaid by AfC as are HCPs, paramedics, porters, AHPs and others. PA grading feels about right.
There is absolutely no crime in being paid more than people who are being paid less than they should be. Please letโs not race to the bottom
Jimmy is good value. He is down to earth with a good sense of humour. If I wanted to find out more about learning disability nursing Jimmy is the first person I would speak to
@JimmyJimrid
@DrAsifQasim
@NHSEngland
Stop it. Just stop it. This is disingenuous nonsense. Disrespectful to PAs and fellow Drs alike. PS please donโt use us (dedicated specialist nurses) in an attempt to score points in your misleading (at best) posts
@DrNeilStone
If my union โrepresentedโ me by mocking other professionals and openly questioning the judgement of senior colleagues I would leave without question.
They are isolating doctors and losing support from the wider NHS workforce.
I finally made it up North. Schools, education, health, social care and families working together to understand how best to support neurodiverse children and young people in schools
@marybusk
Today
#BorisJohnson
backs
#DominicCummings
and turns his back on the rest of us. Breath taking arrogance. Johnson is undermining everything he has said previously. He is undermining everything we have done.
#DowningStreetBriefing
We recognise and value the importance of the support that Learning Disability Nurses provide. We are delighted to open applications for Learning Disability Nurses Leadership Programme โ more information on the link below!
@phonstan
@shirleymbaines
We are doing everything we can to turn Leeds South West and Morley red. Some hopeful conversations on the

this morning. Getting the message out ahead of postal votes. If you need a postal vote sort yours today and

๐น
@drjanaway
@gmcuk
@RCPhysicians
Depends on why I am seeking advice and depends on the PA and on the Doctor. My GP practice doesnโt have a PA, but I will generally ask to see ANP over GP as I feel more comfortable with her and my experience of care has been better than with GPs
@KirkwoodDW
@mancunianmedic
I suspect this is too nuanced for X
I am talking here about online bullying, mockery and a basic lack of respect. It is not and should not be excused by frustration
It rightly becomes the focus
It can be in parallel to the issues raised although I agree it distracts from them
@idruprofen
To be honest Dru the whole conversation is a bit daft because Drs can expect to earn more than nurses (other than outliers).
This illustrates why comparisons are unhelpful rabbit holes.
Junior Doctors should be paid more because they are not paid enough is a clearer message
Pickled Onion Monster Munch
#Snackmasters
I wonder if they are made out of other Pickled Onion Monster Munch. Still reeling from last week's
#KitKat
insides are made from other KitKats revelation
@hannahbrayshaw7
@TomStocks1982
The disrespect you and your colleagues show for senior professionals across the NHS is both palpable and unwarranted. I am not sure what motivates it. I have never seen this before in over 30 years in the NHS. It does the majority of Drs you represent a huge disservice
We are working hard knocking on doors across
#LeedsSouthWestAndMorley
We have had a great response this evening, but no vote is taken for granted and every
#LabourVote
is crucial ๐น
This time last week, Rishi Sunak finally called the election.
Voters across Leeds South West and Morley are looking for change and itโs great that so many people are backing Labour.
Enjoyed making the case for change in Drighlington this evening!
I have a soft spot for the team
@LDASCAlderHey
They do amazing things. And the next generation of Learning Disability nurses including
@emchlokav
are amazing too.
Many thanks
@emchlokav
for your thoughtful to Mia. Giving voice to people who have been denied this is one of the most rewarding things we do as Learning Disability Nurses. Your passion and integrity shines! Thank you Mia! ๐๐๐
@teamCNO_
@AlderHey
I have loved seeing these postcards pop up on my Twitter feed, so many people I have had the pleasure to work with and so many more that I am now looking forward to meeting and working with in the future
To create a movement we need to maintain engagement. So please go to choose the postcards you like, and share away! You don't have to know the person in the postcard. The aim is to showcase how they represent the learning disability nursing profession! ๐
@OwenJones84
I have knocked on hundreds of doors in the last week or so. In my constituency
#LeedsSouthWestAndMorley
it is between Conservatives and Labour. Every Labour vote will count. Vote and
#VoteLabour
or risk Tory
I think I may give the government appropriated clapping and pan banging a miss tonight, if that's ok with everyone? However, I am truly grateful to all in the
#NHS
who continue to do amazing things, and the carers and the keyworkers. Thank you all
There are Learning Disability Nurses like Amanda working in hospitals up and down the country. Amanda is a dedicated liaison nurse well respected by colleagues both locally and nationally. Be like Amanda
@DavidHarling1
#RealNursesRealLives
If asked to give a whistle stop tour of the Parker I would say he is kind, generous and thoughtful. He is knowledgeable and has immutable values. He is sometimes a bit prickly. HaHa! If I needed a nurse I would look no further than Simon
@mossleySimon
The only poll that matters is on election day ๐๐ป Nothing is guaranteed in
#LeedsSouthWestAndMorley
Donโt mess about or send messages on July 4th. Vote and

The only poll that matters is on election day.
Leeds South West and Morley is my home and Iโm fighting for every vote.
Vote Labour on 4th July for a fresh start for our community ๐ฅ
@LukeAmos__
What a ridiculous argument. How would reducing PA pay help to pay my mortgage?
And no Iโm not at all outraged PAs look appropriately paid but thanks for your concern
Agree nurses and other graduate AHP roles are underpaid. Reducing the pay of PAs does nothing to address that ๐

We need to stop calling it a debate or conversation. Thereโs no interest in compromise, mutual respect, learning, growth, or camaraderie.
Attempted conversations become being told youโre wrong by people who have no interest or insight into anyone elseโs experience or perspective
