@MaureenLangloss Our daughter did the same when she was 14 and we ended up finding a bonded pair at a shelter. Then, a few years later, we took in a friend’s that needed to be rehomed. We loved them dearly and they are great pets, though very fragile (bones & gut.)

@RdotSpoon I think about this all the time because as a kid who was homeless in the 70s-80s, 80% was our whiteness that saved us from discovery, but the other 20% was being able to cook a meal at a park AND wash up at the pump or restroom and we went undetected as unhoused.

Not only this, now we have militarized police forces who are desperate to justify their funding, en masse all over Maine. The amount of weaponry has increased dramatically. Guns don’t make us safer, and neither do police.

@enabran_taint @washedruben As long as you label the carton with the date and your address, you are within compliance. We wash the eggs before packaging them up and refrigerate them until donation. Eggs are considered good for 45 days. So if I box eggs up from today I date them with May 31.

@GHMansfield I had an MRI in November and techs were so put out that I needed an assistive stool to get onto the bed, and then again to get down. The MRI was for my catastrophically injured left ankle and foot.

@Imani_Barbarin Yes! Green beans works especially well for me. My favorite tip is about creating resistant starch in rice, pasta, potatoes, and even pizza crust by refrigerating it for several hours, then reheating it. Starch now digests like fiber (results vary for individuals, of course.)

Hey, @MaineDoctors , it sure would be great if all the reception staff could be trained on proper mask wearing. I’m seeing chins covered or masks dangling from ears while folks hack and cough. We’re three years into this, Covid is airborne and stays in the air for hours.
