@jacob_hanna Artificially indeed. There is no evidence that humans undergo diapause. However, artificially manipulating the mTOR pathway in mice and humans appear to trigger a similar response. This raises the possibility to control the timing of human embryo development and implantation.

Congrats to Yanzhu, Youdong, Shu and Yuanhui! Use continuous live imaging to identify and trace fluid flow forces in the blastocyst cavity. The lineage trees show the forces determine ICM and TE cell fate sorting! Klf2 as a great force reporter!

Here’s what goes in your arm: alpha-globin 5’-UTR, a signal sequence, codon-optimized spike protein coding sequence (w/two mutations to keep it in the desired conformation), and a poly-A tail. All U’s replaced with ψ’s. Looking forward to getting it when my turn comes around.

@ItaiYanai Would be very complementary to read/write type of review. Not to mention that long review process and incomprehension between authors and reviewers is especially detrimental to young scientists (e.g. PhD students) and discourages them from pursuing research careers.

⚠️Attention @Epsiloon_mag il ne s'agit pas d'embryons. Il s'agit d'assemblages de cellules souches (qui ne sont pas synthétisées) qui ressemblent parfois (rarement) a des embryons pendant une période limitée qui ne peuvent en aucun cas former un embryon.

@metricausa But immunostaining is not enough as we don't know yet of stringent markers specific to the blastocyst vs. post-implantation stages. Timing of morphogenesis, sequence of lineages specification, and overall efficiency are easy to assess #looksisdeceiving
