More wild lightsaber concepts for The Acolyte by Adam Burn.
“Initially, we had a different production designer who wanted to really explore a different approach to the design of the sabers…we decided to look into old dueling pistols and a more deliberate baroque style…”
These initial sith lightsaber concepts for The Acolyte go so hard.

Body shaming Kumail Nanjiani for...being jacked? Is way weird. Especially since all the Chris’ have done the same super-soldier program and never got any flack for it. I wonder what the difference is?
“Sometimes the design process takes countless iterations, but sometimes it just works on the first attempt. That’s what happened here with Turgle, who emerged fully formed as he was being drawn for the first time.”
- Jean-Francois Rey (original concept artist)
The refined sabers under the newer production designer are safer, but still incredibly cool. I hope we see some of these wilder concepts in canon someday.

Just thinking about how Davis School District ignored 200 reports of racial incidents over a period of five years. That's 40 a year, or one every week students are in school. Every week.
You can ask me or any of my four brothers about racial incidents in Davis School District. My own mother nearly lost her teaching career before it began because parents at Kaysville Junior High couldn't handle a teacher with an accent.
Also, I wouldn't fret too much about these designs not being used here. The people in charge decided they weren't right for The Acolyte, but that doesn't mean they'll never get used.
The Book of Boba Fett actually used a bunch of 20 year old concept art, for example.

I’m not sure the toy market is in a place right now to make it work like it did in the 2000s. A lot of the kids’ revenue moved to video games, which isn’t something Disney has a great foothold in.
@SpencerJCox
I applied for a scholarship for kids with Crohn's Disease back in the day. I am sorry to all the non-Crohnies out there who felt super-excluded by this scholarship. ✌️😘

I read forever ago that the more ornate you make a weapon, the more the weapon becomes separate from the character and becomes a character in its own right. It could also be an example of intentionally going "too far" so that you have a pretty good idea of where to pull back to.
LEGO just showed off our first look at new LEGO Star Wars minifigs releasing this Summer
Including:
Ezra Bridger (from Ahsoka)
Cal Kestis
Nien Numb
Young Leia
Also, the district says the report's findings don't reflect the values of the community. To that I would invite you to read the comments for the KSL story on Facebook and decide what the community's values are.
For May the Fourth, here’s some ship cutaways I drew about 4-5 years ago. I kept iterating on the idea of having the spaceship equivalent of a van you can live in.
“Why don’t more people use the Holdo-“
Imma stop you right there. We haven’t addressed why capital ships don’t come equipped with ion cannons or why the Death Star didn’t use its tractor beam to stop the X-Wings or why droids aren’t piloting all ships.
@SW_takes
Most of that wear and tear on the original armor came after ROTJ, meaning it likely came from the Sarlacc. I'm sure Fett was all too happy to remove that history from his armor.
@sagehyden
Craig Maizin, writer for a lot of the 2000s parody movies, said the genre is super dead and never coming back because of social media. In the time it takes to write, make, and get a parody movie to theaters, Twitter will have memed every joke you could have made into the ground.
@Raijin_____
But I do hope these pop up in canon eventually. I think they'd make great Old Republic sabers, or maybe a legendary Excalibur-esque saber. I think these designs are cool enough that they should be in a show where they're treated like a special element of the story.
I’ve been hoping someone would ask this! Path of the Worthy is my campaign set during the ST. In it, the last surviving Padawans of Luke’s Jedi temple team up with Coruscant underworld types in order to stop the First Order from uncovering ancient lost knowledge.

Can you imagine how hard it'd be to write a Star Wars score that's intentionally trying not sound like John Williams or use any of his themes?
GLASS ONION detail: Something I noticed on my rewatch is how basic Miles’ taste is. His favorite painting is the Mona Lisa. The song he’s practicing is by The Beatles. Everything at the glass onion looks very expensive, but it all clashes. Epitome of “money doesn’t buy taste.”
@EckhartsLadder
I think if Jakku was more like this and less like tatooine, and Starkiller Base was reworked, most of the complaints about TFA being a ANH remake goes away.

My second Star Wars DnD campaign poster!
I did a High Republic reskin of Journeys through the Radiant Citadel and drew nearly every single NPC across 14 adventures. I felt like I needed a poster that showed off as many of them as I could fit.
@Ky1eKatarn
Andor added 12* new species to the SW canon. None of them have been officially named yet.
*Give or take, since some of these are very blurry, and it's hard to tell sometimes where "different looking but same species" ends and "new species" begins.
@Joe_Brennan_
In my opinion, it lets you know you're watching Star Wars and ends. Which makes it a lot better than the Marvel logo, which seems to drag on forever.
@TimJBarber
People have always gotten far more upset at me for pointing something out than I was for their original comment, so yeah, not doing anything was always best practice.
Like, if Ezra had normal eyes, I wouldn’t have blinked twice. They’re just being consistent!
But giving him blue eyes reminded me of how all three of these characters have unnaturally bright contacts in live action.
People talk about barbenheimer, but the real contrast at the theater last night was all the girls decked out in pink for Barbie, and the guys wearing BYU-I t-shirts tucked into cargo pants for The Sound of Freedom.
@_stardustem
Also, if the show was planned to be five seasons, it’d likely be canceled before they finished the show. Tony Gilroy said he doesn’t think the show would’ve been greenlit today with streamers tightening budgets, and Andor is the second least-watched live-action SW show.
@NishWeiseth
While I'm thinking comic book movies, I'm not sure there will ever be better Magneto and Professor X casting than Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart. Shame that their movies aren't better.
At the end of an interview, Stephen Colbert jokingly asked John Lewis if he'd like to go crowd surfing, and John Lewis was just like, "yeah, that sounds like fun." So here's a clip of John Lewis crowd surfing.
In his first tweet since The Sound of Freedom was released, Tim Ballard answers a question about the sexual harassment allegations by not addressing them and showing a picture of himself in his underwear.
Thank you,
@AdamCarollaShow
for having myself and Katherine on the show, and for allowing us to bring light and truth to false allegations being spread.
@HelloGreedo
KK is 68 years old, so she *must* retire sometime soon right? Once she does, all these guys will claim vindication. Its like being a broken clock that has been wrong for 10.5 hours. One of the easiest grifts on earth.

@StaceyHarkey
My family had multiple racial incidents throughout our time in Davis School District. I have no issues calling out FJHS and DHS in particular for not doing much to prevent racism.
@hmdoppelganger
I think the real sticking point with a lot of parents is that the message of the movie is “you don’t have to be exactly who your parents want you to be.”
@Polygon
Lovecraft doesn't really count today. He's been dead 80 years and most of his work is public domain. You don't have to pay him or pretend to be nice to him in order to make new Cthulu things. You can take his work and turn it into a middle finger to HP himself if you like.

Everyone saying this is a desperate move, and yeah, it is.
1. Chadwick Boseman died
2. Kang and Jonathan Majors blown up
3. COVID blew up a bunch of plans
4. New Disney CEO ordered so many D+ shows that they severely diluted the brand
Like, they’ve taken a pretty bad clubbing.
Robert Downey Jr is getting paid “significantly more” than $80M to star as Doctor Doom in the next 2 Avengers movies.
He also only agreed to return on the condition that The Russos would direct the films.
