Basic dude bro I just met was told by a mutual friend that I like Star Wars, too.
Dude's opening line: "So The Acolyte sucked, huh?"
I extricated myself from that conversation at hyperspeed.
Lucasfilm really needs to reckon with its communication style. Sending cutesy packages to influencers is all fun and good, but actually stand behind the cast and crew and defend them publicly against attacks! The Acolyte's portrayers have been basically abandoned by them.
I think these two petitions have ended up encapsulating
#StarWars
Fandom as a whole:
๐ A majority of normal people with varied opinions who want Star Wars to thrive.
Versus
๐ A minuscule vocal minority who do nothing but mindlessly hate and try to ruin it for everyone else.
According to Tricia Barr's lore book
#StarWars
#TheDarkSide
(released only in France and in Spain in 2018), the Nightsisters also usually procreated without men. It's what witches in Star Wars do, apparently, and #
#TheAcolyte
is just following the lore.
A big thanks to all who made
#TheAcolyte
and to
@msiglain
and the Luminous team that gave us
#StarWarsTheHighRepublic
... I hope that somehow, what won't end up on our screens will inspire us on the printed page in years to come, as SWTHR itself has done these past few years.
@miyoshi_michael
EXACTLY. It's always insane misinformation. It's the most canon-conforming SW show, next to Andor. There are valid criticisms to be had regarding the craftsmanship behind the show, but something tells me people who open with "yo this thing sucks" aren't intersted in that debate.
I'm about to move all of this into boxes for an impending little makeover in this room, but since I've seen a few bookshelves as part of the
#swtwt
hashtag, here are mine. (There are a few artbooks in a different shelf not shown here, but that's the lion's share right here.)
Set between V and VI in the underworld. Well if Qi'ra and her war aren't part of this in some fashion, however tangential...
Well. Looks great and I can't wait to explore the open world.
We're getting a

one-shot? That's what we intuit from the solicit for Nov. 19's
#The

I'll spare you the tired superlatives and comparisons. Suffice to say that
#TheAcolyte
is different, unexpected and fresh and will take you on a great ride if you just let it. Some pics from the screening of my best friend, my wonderful teammates and me.
The greatest Star Wars moment on here was when the official YouTube channel accidentally encouraged people to use a sexually suggestive hashtag and everyone was extremely "mature" about it.
Right, Celebration Japan is a thing that'll be happening.
Have fun, y'all.
SWCE in London was one of the most poorly organized events I've ever been to and I don't see myself flying halfway around the globe for a repeat of that (or just to spend time in a con center).
These last few days I've been asked by several colleagues & acquaintances if
#TheAcolyte
sucks because "the internet said so", & I told them to quit social media for a sec and watch the show for themselves and then come back to me. Don't let online toxicity ruin something great!
Seeing people actually get mad about the hot garbage Salvador Larroca is selling as art on the Obi-Wan comic is heartwarming, honestly. I had thought people who buy adaptations had lost all their artistic taste buds long ago.
The wedding one-shot was not the thing I expected Dark Horse to announce ahead of solicits, but it's very much appreciated. Star Wars: Union can't stand as the only wedding-themed comic book in Star Wars.
Yo, put Jacen and Jaina in there, too. The toxic asshole brigade of Legends fans is annoying, yes, but just pretending these stories never existed in pieces like this one is just boring as fuck and not the way to go. Rather, find the thematic overlap, which is THERE.
Hello there! We're Maddie (
@SskeerMadness
) and Florian (
@germanjedi
) and we're about to resurrect this account. Which form it is going to take is still a work in progress, but as before, we're going to talk about
#StarWars
books and comics, be they canon, Legends or otherwise.
Making Alyssa Wong's
#StarWarsTheHighRepublic
story exclusive to a retailer-specific edition and thereby apparently also precluding it from translation to other markets still feels like some form of corporate disrespect, both against the author and their fans.
What if I told you there is an expanded edition of STAR WARS TIMELINES out there already, with 8 extra pages? What if I told you it's exclusive to a US store again (but I dunno yet which).
What if...
Imagine if
#TheAcolyte
had done this with the Sith/Jedi history in the style of wall reliefs that you might find in a pyramid on Moraband or Malachor. We were robbed.
Lol, watch me, bitch. (I've made it this far in life without a single cup of coffee, so I'm not starting now just because someone had to crank out a think piece.)
Do any of these โStar Wars fansโ actually watch Star Wars?
โSee you in hellโ is a direct callback to Han Solo in Empire saying the Exact. Same. Thing.

You all overestimate how much of a fuck I give about your takes on a situation which you were not a part of and only know thanks to a polemic tweet. I won't punch anybody and I don't care about your reviews.
Too many from Legends to even mention, but in canon the amount of characters that visited that fucking backwater Batuu for completely illogical reasons. They even made Zahn weave it into a Thrawn book...
The marketing push for GE overstayed its welcome. (Same for the Halcyon.)
ok i need everyone's personal favourite world-shatteringly stupid star wars lore decision that is small enough to fit into a single tweet. mine is that they decided famous han solo quotes were due to a near deific belief in beating the odds as enshrined in corellian culture
This is fucking amazing. The Starcruiser has been such an insane project (in every sense of the word), and it is worth watching this video essay to find out why it was so spectacularly stupid in its execution.
It must be Ming-Na Wen's character Fennec Shand, of course!
Also, as a fun note, the German title of the finale "Entscheidung auf Tantiss" translates to Decision/Showdown on Tantiss!
And the much-discussed 3x9 title "The Harbinger" is "Die Vorbotin", denoting a female harbinger
One of the most badass thing Dark Horse ever did was putting a huge amount of their bestselling Star Wars comics in a Humble Bundle sale as PDFs days before their license expired at the end of 2014, basically making some of them "worthless" for Marvel's digital relaunch.
The haters have already been appeased by the cancellation (and were also just a few loudmouths, never the majority). They'll move on to the next thing to hate into the ground, having forgotten about their last "passion".
Hi
#swtwt
, I unabashedly love Star Wars books, past and present, and therefore run
@JediBibliothek
and
@swbooks
. I used to be more active on here, but I'm still around. For light and life!
Today's Star Wars:
#TheAcolyte
went there a bit early and I missed some of the actors from the previous episodes, but I still enjoyed the lore we got.
As for the
#DarthVader
comics... those involved in making them should feel ashamed. I don't feel like mincing words here anymore
The thing about the current Darth Vader run is that it has made me lose all respect for the writer's creativity, and I used to have tons. ๐ฌ And every press release or preview just digs his hole deeper.
Disney Foe Nelson Peltz Questions โWokeโ Marvel Films: โWhy Do I Have to Have a Marvel [Movie] Thatโs All Women? Why Do I Need an All-Black Cast?โ
Wait,
@starwars
is handing out
@TheAcolyte
gift boxes? ๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ฎ Pretty please with kyber on top from this High Republic fan who has been along for the ride since the very beginning.
I enjoy it a lot so far and I don't think that will change with the final episode.
Sure it has flaws and it is not perfect, but it is a very enjoyable show
As for me...
Highlights include achieving lifetime tenure as a teacher and successfully progressing through my long-planned first-time viewing of the entire Star Trek franchise. TOS and TAS + TOS-based movies are done. Currently halfway through TNG. Having a blast, really.
โSTAR WARS: THE ACOLYTEโ is currently set to release on June 5 on Disney+
Starring Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-Jae, Dafne Keen, Carrie Ann-Moss, Manny Jacinto and Jodie Turner-Smith.

I definitely would want comics to have a part in this, as they are a visual medium, but I think novels should also be part of the mix, in order to add inner depth to characters, plots and world building. This could essentially be Phase IV of THR.

Some sad days behind me, a very interesting week (including an impromptu trip to the capital) ahead of me, but one constant through it all is that new comic book deliveries put a smile on my face.
I used to have a handful of nicely sorted shelves. After I had them move out of their room, I now have a bunch of absolutely brutally disordered chaos shelves. But in a way, they're also beautiful.
