Lazy does not exist. Those often labeled lazy are tired, burned out, overwhelmed, depressed, suffer from some form of task paralysis or Neurodivergence that makes things difficult. There is no such thing as lazy.
@TikiRose
@ba_lyons
So, you're saying you're not impressed by a person who busts their ass for their entire young adulthood to obtain a doctorate level degree bc corporations don't respect them? Interesting.
@HumanbeingAwk
I’ll say, as a mental health professional, yes. Yes the research can be heartbreakingly biased, but I can say there are many autistic getting into that field for the purpose of changing it. It will take time, unfortunately, but it will change.

@kittensnotkids
My brother has this same diagnosis. He was still there when his kids were born & he’s a douche bag. But apparently not as bad as this guy.
@LyftGyft
@AKBrews
No. The suv was NOT in the wrong. It stayed in its own lane & moved to avoid being hit THE FIRST TIME. There’s no “they’re both wrong” here & this “two sides” bs is just that 🐂💩
@ambrxxsia
As someone who read adult literature by 3rd grade - yeah, my parents not prereading what they allowed me to read is not on the authors at all.

Only temporarily. Then your interests will be towards ppl who make you feel comfortable and fit into the space you've created for yourself instead of expecting you to conform to theirs.

My mom was the same. Thankfully I never got more than harassed by inappropriate comments. It could have been so much worse with the way my mother just did not care.
@ask_aubry
This actually sounds like possible autism. Showering can be very difficult for a lot of ppl with neurodivergence (& without) for many reasons but rigidity about it & not understanding that there’s a social thing involved is kinda a flag to me here.
@theshirarose
Because it's viewed as a moral failing. Just like ADHD and the executive dysfunction (which is often called laziness or stubbornness) that comes with it or any other disability. They're "moral failings" according to society.
HOAs are legit for nosy assed control freaks who can’t mind their own goddamned business. Only run in I ever had with mind I scared the ever living hell out of them & they haven’t bothered me since. That was 7 years ago.
I had no idea so many people were pro-HOA. “If you don’t have an HOA, will you do when your neighbor neglects their lawn?”
Why?!?! would I do?!! anything?!?!? I literally cannot fathom something that would concern me less.

My wife had HORRIBLY grotesque ex boyfriend she says she couldn't stand. I showed her what life was like on the other side of the rainbow.

I’m both autistic & highly intelligent & I prefer having music going most of the time. Chosen sensory input over random & often startling or irritating. The beat often helps me think or be productive/gives me motivation. It also helps me think.
@emilykmay
I love hearing about kind, supportive partners & I think it’s absolutely ridiculous that ppl think they should hate their husbands/wives/partners bc of some unhealthy/outdated social norm we don’t even know where it came from (aside from bad tv).

They’ll choose to misunderstand you bc it’s easier than accepting they’re bootlickers to oligarchs. Hounds begging for scraps at the table of tyrants, as it were. Some ppl just wanna be angry at everyone else.
@shardai_smithh
I’m not unaware of this, I assure you. Thing is, that can be fought. It’s the selling/monotizing of & the majority doesn’t break this rule & most writers know that.
@pot8um
My therapist said (when I said I was getting assessed) that she felt I couldn’t be bc I was too emotionally intelligent & empathetic to be autistic. I got assessed & after I informed her she enrolled in courses to expand her knowledge in both autism & adhd bc I changed her view.

My wife and I never fight. We bicker like an old couple at the grocery store because people look at us funny and it's hilarious, but we never actually fight. Our frustrations are never allowed to get that far.
@1Schoolhouse
I guess this is one reason I'm ok having not found out until I was an adult, but also like... they were bullying an autistic kid (me) for being autistic & I never even knew & I am a whole new kind of mad about it.
@lianafricker
As a hyperlexic autistic American, our poor English skills are deplorable but seeing so many ppl accusing those of us who use proper words or slightly more archaic language as using AI bc we’re articulate is wicked obnoxious.

None of those were ACTUAL communism & the ones that were were destabilized by American interference. Bum bum bum. Read a fcking history book that wasn’t high school propaganda.

Absolutely. Those things can 100% be discussed in a scholarly/intelligent and respectful way. They should be, in fact. I wish they'd been discussed when I was in HS & we read his work. Would have been far more interesting.

Incorrect. That dispute “reasonable” at every turn & do everything in their power NOT to accommodate you & fire you under false pretenses all the fucking time.

Of all the ppl I’ve known, men are far more likely to not flush a toilet after going (unless in a public bathroom bc women + public restrooms seem to Lose all respect for life).
@marigoldglitter
Yeah, I couldn’t raise money to pay bills or buy food with any fundraiser I’ve tried, which is why I don’t try anymore, but it’s cool to see ppl raise a shit ton to play fucking video games while I sell everything I own.
@rayyalex_
Agreed! I walked around in a tshirt and underwear as a kid. If there was someone around who got aroused by that my mother would have killed them herself.
@welshflier
Honestly, forgiving myself has been/was easy but I find myself burning with anger I’d thought I’d put to bed a long time ago over the fact that they weren’t abusing me but a legitimately DISABLED CHILD. I’m so angry for the little girl I was all over again.
@PleiadianToycan
@kasratweets
Stuff has happened to me like this in several different scenarios, from don’t go down that street to “switch lanes” when driving behind someone who suddenly hits their breaks out of nowhere on the freeway (& I mean they came to a dead stop for 0 reason).
@ingloriousgigi
Exactly this.
I try to write diverse casts, but in fantasy settings & I never try to tell stories/traumas that don’t belong to me in any type of setting. Every story should reflect the world around us, but not every person should tell a story that doesn’t belong to them.

The poignancy of this book. The way

weaves the legends of Arthur into modern times. How she's created descendants who were less than worthy of the title. How it all leads to Bree. How the words "we ran so you would not have to" bring tears to my eye.
@Joannechocolat
You’re way off point. They removed the book bc the backlash looked bad. Plain & simple. No one would touch her with a ten foot pole & they’d lose money. Stop conflating it.
@SandraProudman
THAT'S what he did. Thank you. I just woke up & saw all the hate (always deserved/never liked him to begin with) & was curious. Thank you. Figures he'd pull this BS after making bank off the diversity he claimed to create it for to begin with.

You’re right. Bipolar isn’t one of the personality disorders as far as the book goes, but it is a mental health disorder that affects mood/personality. Which I think is where the op is going. Not everyone has a strong grasp of the concept.
@MrsBundrige
The old neuropathways die after not being used. Like a hiking trail you no longer use. It gets overgrown and eventually indistinguishable from other trails.
@laurenancona
Yeah. I kinda love this about my autism & it explains so much about some of the issues I’ve had my entire life with “authority” & groups. Now I play to that strength every chance I get.

We definitely need to insist that autism (& ADHD) are emphasized in mental healthcare. I was misdiagnosed borderline for 10+ years & never understood why the meds & treatment fell short. Then just cPTSD for several years & just figured I’d never “fully heal” all that trauma.
@mermaidwrites
@WriterSelenaP
We should still never tell a story that isn’t ours to tell. I can never tell a story about the trauma of being a black person in our country bc I will never know. Not even with beta readers or sensitivity readers would I ever be able to tell that story.
@CHIMCHAMS95
No. Because they kinda sucked too. The way the relationships with those people ended broke me and I had to rebuild from the ashes they left behind in my life. They don't deserve to know who I am now.
@1Schoolhouse
Not just the trauma, but all the weird little quirks that even being dx ADHD 6 months prior didn't explain. I still don't think I've grieved or gotten sad about it. Tho I do have new anger at ppl who hurt me bc it's no longer just they were bullies & I was weird.
