@pot8um My therapist said (when I said I was getting assessed) that she felt I couldn’t be bc I was too emotionally intelligent & empathetic to be autistic. I got assessed & after I informed her she enrolled in courses to expand her knowledge in both autism & adhd bc I changed her view.

I’m sorry but there’s not liking a book and then there’s cheering on vile, rac!st, and outright harassments like these. I’m getting so many death threats and r @pe threats and su!c!de encouragements over wide spread MISINFORMATION on a book SO close to my heart

@laurenancona We definitely need to insist that autism (& ADHD) are emphasized in mental healthcare. I was misdiagnosed borderline for 10+ years & never understood why the meds & treatment fell short. Then just cPTSD for several years & just figured I’d never “fully heal” all that trauma.

@mermaidwrites @WriterSelenaP We should still never tell a story that isn’t ours to tell. I can never tell a story about the trauma of being a black person in our country bc I will never know. Not even with beta readers or sensitivity readers would I ever be able to tell that story.

@CHIMCHAMS95 No. Because they kinda sucked too. The way the relationships with those people ended broke me and I had to rebuild from the ashes they left behind in my life. They don't deserve to know who I am now.

@1Schoolhouse Not just the trauma, but all the weird little quirks that even being dx ADHD 6 months prior didn't explain. I still don't think I've grieved or gotten sad about it. Tho I do have new anger at ppl who hurt me bc it's no longer just they were bullies & I was weird.
