I cant lie yeah. Ive put out about 6 records this year including an LP and a 2 bandcamp drops with 50+ tracks and i STILL FEEL like no one noticed. Im starting to feel like I should stop trying. If 2021 doesn't brighten me up its back to soundcloud. Self pitying rant over
How does Pearson Sound make essentially stupid/funny noises sound so good. So did 2007-10 era Untold. A very difficult task as a producer without looking like a silly boi
Sorry to be that guy. Im usually the other guy who autistically IDs all the tunes. BUT WHAT IS THE ID OF THIS DIZZEE RASCAL STOP DAT FOOTWORK/160 EDIT THAT KODE9 PLAYED LAST NIGHT AT DJ RASHAD MEMORIAL
Im in this creative rut atm where i feel like i need to make tracks for DJs but i jus wanna make album tracks or 11min long epics that go from hip hop to jungle to ambient. But i feel like no one will give a shit cuz no one has an attention span beyond 32 bars these days
Daft Punk have split up. So can Thomas Bangalter plz make more pumping french filter house thats like a 1/4 bar loop repeated for 7mins with 909 over the top. Nothing makes me gurn harder
Pangaea is an all time GOAT producer. Of all time. Was banging his entire discography today. Not one wanky track. Those early dubstep ones thooooooo 🤌🤌🤌🤌😭😭😭 guess what. Fl studio.
Theres a group of producers who are all vastly different but also similar in the way they can approach almost anything and add their own persona to it. Gunna miss some but: Falty DL, Martyn, Luke Vibert, Danny Breaks, Mark Pritchard = biggest inspirations. Unbound by scene/genre
I'm caught in a uk garage loop again i cant stop making dem sidesticks TAK and those shuffles that make your shoulders roll.
Jungle vibes garage drums here we comes
This controversial subject has come up recently and i tell you it held me back for years as a producer: no you dont HAVE to program your synths from fucking scratch. Open a preset move shit about make it your own. Then you start to figure out how to go from scratch
Anyone who's played Half Life: Alyx - theres a piece of graff in it saying ETCH
yes that is me, my uncle finally put a homage to me in a fucking half life game. thats what im saying. *brag brag brag brag brag*
Fast fowards 4 years and i made this coming down off pills I was supposed to have sold on NYE , my girlfriend dumped me in the middle of this - SO like any sensible person would do I snorted the rest of those pills off a celebrations tin and made this in a week with no sleep
Ripping my record collection for
@RuptureLondon
is driving me mad. Why is there so much good dnb and jungle. I swear to god tho. It will be the best DnB/Jungle set ive ever played. I'm even im even inviting me my mum as she did go into labour with me at a hardcore rave in '92
I was feeling suicidal recently, lifes a bastard. but the love towards an album ive made no ones heard yet has made me feel a bit better. Im gunna have an egg sandwich. I realise i like humans again (but not more than dogs or cats)
💜😻🙏🐙
When alot of people talk about Dillinja the focus is on the amen chops and the bass WHICH IS AMAZING DONT GET ME WRONG but boi can he do them ethereal spacey intro's and pads
Yeah i dont partake in the uk underground music middle class circle jerk and i never will. I gas up music i genuinely love and make and release music my heart and soul is. I dont see this shit as a ladder to climb. Its just therapy
DJ'd at an illegal free party in the woods last night on the outskirts of brighton, I came up doin that shit and u kno what its so much more of a fucking vibe than club/festival DJing. Bare ppl just vibing no matter the genre. Soz 🤷♂️🤷♂️
So I made a tune and a video tutorial breakdown for it specifically for FL Studio 20 - its different to a lot of tutorials (im self taught) so I wanted to show stuff at the most basic as well as complex level.
I'll reach my 30th vinyl release this year and turn 30, doing it since 2013. Ive made more money from DJing (which pretty much anyone can do now) vs money from making music which takes more time, skill and thankless effort. Luckily i still have the passion for it
I love tunes like Photek - T'Raenon n would also love to make tunes that are 8mins long and that detailed but most people jus would not have the patience to experience the whole thing now.... its very sad 😔
2nd snippet off my forthcoming
@Overshadowmusic
EP - track titled "Seeoux" couple hidden messages there
This is my take on the early 00s techy steppy stuff i grew up on mostly
Also MUMS FAV! she blows the speakers of her ford focus wid this

Ppl out there actually thing The Prodigy - Fat Of The Land is "corny" - are u fucking dumb. I've been trying to make my drums, bass and general mixdowns that hench my entire life
So... im British.
Weird
Im still using the 1/4 persian 1/4 kashmiri 1/4 french jew in all arguments. With that 1/4 "english".
I am truly the UKIP nightmare. Oh and i often play drum & bass and go to squat parties. Hunt me down you bumbaclarts
I feel I don't express this enough, cuz im shy. But to all the labels who have put my music out, all the people who listen to my music, the DJs who rep it ppl who jam radio and people who have booked me i love you all you give me a reason to not just keep creating but keep living
Jus wanna shed some public love on
@Si2BadMice
/
@Overshadowmusic
- not only is it a dream to work with a label thats a mutation of my favourite label of all time. But the fact Si actually calls me and gives me a run down of how things operate and how he treats artists fairly
Been listening to the new
@sk33mask
LP most of the past week like "goddamn he done did it again" - shout out my brudda 🙌🙌🙌 - buy that shit off
@IlianTape
now cuz they they best ans deserve all your moneys 🤌🤌
18yrs old today, one of the best tunes ever made. When I was 15 this tune made me stick to my guns with fruity loops despite everyone telling me you can't make tunes on FL, its a toy - well here i fucking am still using it aged 31. Big up
@I_Skream
Outlook Festival: the year everyone discovered the amen break edition 👏👏👏👏👏
When they find out about james brown who knows.
Remind me again how DJs are seen as more important than producers now. Ppl get careers off playing one persons tune.
why does 90% of the best music get played on Radio 6, I swear that used to be Radio 1's job.
New Burial debuted on Radio 6 for one... Infact its not even about radio stations it's about Mary Anne Hobbs. She shaped me, BRING BACK MARY TO R1
Gassed to have a "dubplate of the decade" on Riz's shouts - the irony is when i made this 2 people liked it. Everyone else said (very rudely) "this is just slow dubstep" - and not only killed my confidence but stopped me producing that side of my sound - so shouts to Riz & Parris
I can't believe I got mugged on NYE, In brighton of all places. BRIGHTON. The worst part was probably Ben UFO putting his hand on my shoulder for condolences. Bless him. OJNFusnfiosunuofijsjnfjionujfuj
Nothing gets under my skin more than people saying "yo, can you link me any good jungle sample packs or some breaks"
1. Google
2. You're doing this for the wrong reasons
3. No, not ever.
Sampling with an actual hardware sampler and using a mackie 1202 desk is so fucking rewarding. Got the bug now. Even stuff i make in FL and Ableton goes out and back in. The days of 3 tunes a week are gone but fuck it
Along side my big album ft. Lots of collabs on Sneaker Social Club ready to go (when time allows) and a dark garage/broken beat EP on EC2A set to go asap - I have also got an LP ready to go on the next mutation of one of my favourite labels of all-time. Cannot wait to give deets
I have a day job in the NHS. My mum brought me up from age 18 in q single bedroom council flat. My nan took me in (she sadly departed us this summer in the midst of COVID) i just dont get how the music game works anymore. Why is no one genuine
Skanna and Steve Gurley WITH FOUL PLAY are both hitting the studio again. This combined with
@JMajikUK
's brilliant new LP have got my brain going "AHHHHHHHHHHH" needless to say im 4 tracks deep into making a proper jungle/DnB record for later in the year 👀👀👀
That '95 - '97 "jump up dnb" sound from Bristol is so sick dun care. It got a bit much after that I reckon.
>> <<
such a cheeky tune. def gunna be reachin for these vibes in places in future sets
The term "intelligent Drum & Bass" cringes/annoys me more than IDM - i was fkn interviewed about it a few years ago for RBMA aswell. Nah mate. Jus cuz shit doesn't have an amen break doesnt make it "intelligent" smh.
Tracklist for the
@Balamii
show cuz i'm not a snake and everyone should listen to all of these tunes in their entirety cuz they are all fucking 'mazzzzzin
Ok so the MF Doom tribute mix may be postponed a week Its currently 5hrs long unedited and i need to produce my cuts and edits and special tracks for the transitions between aliases and between quasimoto, kool keith and captain murphy. Also i need photoshop back to do the artwork
FM8 > IZOTOPE TRASH² > BIT OF EQ WITH FABFILTER PRO Q > FILTER MOD WITH FABFILTER VOLCANO > EQ > BIT OF FABFILTER SATURN > PLAY MULTIPLE VARIATIONS TWEAKING EACH ONE > BOUNCE EACH ONE TO AUDIO > PUT INTO NI KONTAKT AND GO MAD AND AT THE END YOU GOT A BADBOI LIBRARY
#BASSTIPS
My mums into witchcraft and that and when she was pregnant with me tried to reincarnate Jim Morrison into me, then went into labour at a uk hardcore night aged 18 in brighton brukking out to future sounds of london and joey beltram - it explains alot
Also whats the fucking deal with DJs making careers off playing other peoples tracks on like live streams while the producers get 2nd place. It used to be the other way round. DJs broke tracks. Tracks didnt break DJs. Modern DJ culture really irks me
So since goin to pick up an award n that ive decided my time has come to take up cocaine so heres my end of 2018 list

Brussels was INCREDIBLE last night. I find playing in Europe and generally just anywhere but the UK to be my calling. Rammed crowd. People goin wild. Going between house techno garage grime dubstep jungle footwork and everyone completely was with it. Love to Brussels 🧑🚀🐙💜
MiniDisc is one of those formats like BetaMax, Laserdisc, UMD and whatever they called Gamecube discs where its jus like "meh why do you exist" - but i would still buy this on sight
Thanking everyone for comments and DMs of support today and a lovely phone call from
@Si2BadMice
its really got me through today. Im still in the mud and confused. But thank you all. If anyone ever feels the same kind of way im always here too. Life aint easy
U know those people who just play their own tunes at you. Like relentlessly. Like a cokehead at a party where no ones on coke apart from them. It well baffles me. In dont think I've ever played my music at anyone who hasn't asked. Am I shy or are people too gassed off themselves
See. While everyones out here cancelling everything, people who literally say gay people are sub human are making bank DJing around Europe even during COVID when everyone else is suffering. Stop cancelling start fucking knocking people out
SHIT I NEED TO TELL REMOVE THE BOILER ROOM FROM 2014 WHERE I WHEEL
@oiiiemma
&
@sullyE64
's SETS IN THE SAME OUTING. CANT BE GETTING CANCELLED RN. PS IT WAS THE FROSTY JACKS
The workrate & output of ppl like Coco Bryce and Kid Lib continually blows my mind. Such intricate & thought out tracks. I feel i've said this so many times. Someone get these guys medals ffs

Feedback from promo’s has been immense,…
Yo this new promo I got from a producer called San forthcoming on
@rua_sound
is fuckin incredible - exactly what I wanna be hearing in DnB right now - very forward looking & incredible production finesse
Why is my life a series of perpetual fuck ups. Im a good person. I have difficulty expressing myself outside of music. I struggle talking to people i dont know. But shit continually flies in my face. Depression really is destroying me. Why me. I want to give up
Wtf happened to Luke.Envoy?? That 2006 bit on Hotflush was mental then the other 2 random 12's in 2008 & 2009 - then nothing??? Another one who bridged the gap from DnB & Breakcore into dubstep for me
I recommend a site called Subzin which lets you type in a word or quote and it searches a gargantuan bank of film and TV that matches. You then B(torrent)U(stream)Y said film or tv show and sample that badboi
Nah i wont stand for that 🤣🤣
Caspa & Rusko's Fabriclive was iconic like it or not (personally it always has a place in my heart) the fine line between uk's wobblers and tear out and horrible screechy brostep. I do love some of that trashy UK dubstep
Yo
@reni_ldn
has the sickest fucking EP comin out on the SICKEST label its been getting me so gassed and influenced. Gunna run a couple tracks on my
@Balamii
show in a few weeks. Tis gunna be a special show as well as I will be in conversation with Well Rounded founder Donga 🐙
I dont care if it falls under the (what even the fuck is it anyway) banner of EDM - but music ppl like G Jones, Eprom, Tsuruda, Little Snake & so many other underrated ones who jus lurk on soundcloud and bandcamp making music i dreamt of when i was as a yout watching sci fi 💯💯
Incase no one clocked cuz there jas been little to no promotion these 2 records of mine have dropped pretty much at the same time - without me being notified - so plz buy them!

Love it when you work on a tune til like 5am. Leave it, forget, check in the morning and its 50/50 its shit or ok. Boi when its good... blew myself off my chair today like "how tf did i do that, i wasnt even thinking deep" I LIVE FOR THIS FEELING even if no one likes the tune lol
The greatest Hardcore/Jungle/DnB label of all time have asked me for a 2hr mix for
@RinseFM
@koolfmofficial
& I swear to god every atom in my body will deliver you in my eyes the greatest selection of jungle/DnB from then til now. I promise you. 🐙💜
One of those special techstep era tunes for me. As a Photek & El-B production fan I can moan about the POOSH snare etc. as much as I want but its not all about the razors edge of precision - atmospherics, weight & vibe boi. (which photek n el-b also have)
DJ Crystl is such an underrated producer and bizarrely the first 12" i got of his when i was about 13 was the Perpetual Motion EP on payday with 2 HEAVY hip hop tracks and 2 brilliant jungle tracks with MCs over the top. Anyone know this one? Very overlooked
When i heard
@I_Skream
remix of DMZ Ancient Memories end of 2006 that changed EVERYTHING - when i found out he used FL (which I was using) not only changed my musical pursuits but my production. I had been listening to Vex'd prior but just thought it was breakcore. I was 14/15 😮
