I am so bored of generic-sounding revivalist jungle techno that isn't even a fraction as good as the stuff from 1993 ha if you have the technology to make it better..make it better! ha
first foray into generative jungle stuff in
@Bitwig
's Grid...this took about 5 minutes to build...cool! you can also do raw sample playback with ramps (of say an LFO) which i haven't implemented here but will be fun when i do.
this photo of Simon Bassline Smith in this studio is some real hardcore jungle stuff
@Absolute2rec
(the yamaha TG500 was a bit of an unsung hero of this era too)
"Siragusa's set felt like an authentic revival of jungle's rowdy energy, albeit without the annoying MCs or the threat of being mugged on the way back to the tube station."

In addition these sorts of communications (especially if repeated) are against for peaceful use of the dwelling and you can file for harassment.
Someone at worked played James Brown "Funky Drummer" on the pa and I proceeded to perform every Grunt and utterance verbatim to everyone's amusement. I knew my obsessive microscopic knowledge of that song would come in handy one day.
so this makes me happy for a couple of reasons..but mainly because Aphex Twin plays atleast one Paradox tune in every set he plays..and I always felt that his fans would never go see a Paradox show on its own..so Dev really deserves this shine in this exact way.
When I was 13 years old I heard a song by Equinox (w/ Bizzy B) called "7 1/2 Minutes of Madness" and it was immensely inspirational to me. This is a new LP of Equinox's early work from that time.

if you are into jungle/dnb and you talk to some people from Toronto or you are curious as to why Toronto heads are so knowledgable/enthusiastic about jungle/dnb
this set is a cornerstone for that lineage

By age 35 if you are a guy in the jungle scene...you should be taking photos of groups of records placed flat on the floor and posting them on social media on a weekly basis.
other funny music bro things.. bro posts lame photo of their ikea record shelves captioned. "REAL DJS PLAY WAX" (more bros post lame photo of their ikea record shelves)

16 years ago...my 12" surpassed Photek on the Chemical Records sales chart so i decided to leave my house to celebrate and I met
@raisecain
.. Chemical Records didn't stick around (boo!) but she did(yay!). this is our first photo together
I was hanging with

listening to the massive pool of hundreds of tunes that would be pared down to make this compilation...and I can tell you that an incredible amount of care and work went into making this great.
i would like to record mixes of music i've bought on bandcamp..that isn't forthcoming or anything. do people still care about mixes if they aren't just advertisements for new tunes they can consume later?
it's really weird when there is a song that you absolutely love from a set from ages ago and it comes out and you listen to the clip online to buy the track and it doesn't move you in the same way...something about lacking the artifacts bestowed in that original set recording...
6 year old at 730pm: "let's have a dance party"
Me: "remember at 3pm when I asked you if you wanted to have a dance party?"
6yo: "I just prefer having RAVES!"
6yo: "are you tweeting?'

Biz Markie is one of my all time favorite humans (not just human beatboxes).
This is him rocking a part of 7" Technics turntables...because ofcourse he would.

Naibu is probably one of the most awesome dnb artists in the past 15 years and doesn't get enough praise...here is him taking dnb to like the Boards of Canada degree...

my fave pad sound (that i've used in a lot of stuf) is something i made sampling the tone of an air-raid siren from the first iraq war. it's a really pretty soft pad sound but ya it came from there
HI jungle person here. I posted the same thing about jungle being black music on fb and I got called a racist by the "all lives matter" knobheads (who included the hashtag in their comments)
It breaks my brain that those people even liked my page to begin with.
80's dancehall sounds with 70s riffs an 60's breaks over 50's chord progressions in a 90s style in a song i started in the 00's but finishing with 10's technology.
A lot of you djs amd promoters haven't dragged 200 metres of live feeder cable through a muddy field in the middle of a lightning storm to power a musical festival before and it shows.
after some very nerdy analysis i finally managed to coax some legit moog tones out of my Analog Keys.
@WeAreElektron
also made a very nice king tubby style tape delay tone.
I'm djing in the wee hours of April 20th. How many jungle songs about smoking weed do you think I can fit in one set? And is it too late to ask the promoter for a 3rd turntable?
I'm on the periphery of seeing twitter being a really toxic place for musician's and djs. You guys don't have to participate in every discussion or have an opinion on every issue that's doing the rounds. It won't help your output.
