What's a theological pet peeve you rarely address bc its not the right time? Mine is people saying their recently deceased loved one (often a child) became an angel. 1000% wrong, but also not the right time to correct them, and it never comes up other times when I can correct.

My father buried his wife of 53 years on Saturday. Today he sat with one of his granddaughters and helped her with spelling words and memorizing her Bible verse. He’s hurting, and at the same time serving. He’s an inspiration and a role model.

My mom died this morning. It was unexpected and quick. My dad is taking it very hard. Married for 53.5 years. Thankful for EMT and police who arrived quickly and were supportive. Planning a funeral is no fun. Cherish your loved ones today. There might not be a tomorrow.

Thesis: #SBC Seminaries should stop flying in well-known pastors from around the country to preach in chapel. They have competent faculty, local pastors, and a student body that can preach. Take the money spent on travel/accommodations and provide more scholarships to students.
