If elected I’ll be the only public official in our region who lives w/out a car. My family relies on transit for everything. I know how urgent this is because I experience it firsthand every day. You can count on me to fight for transit riders and the planet on Council.

This summer my kiddo’s bff moved to Lynnwood because their family couldn’t afford Seattle anymore. Slumber parties that used to be a 3 block walk now require hours of transit and multiple transfers. Our policy failures hurt our kids in so many ways. We have to do better.

I believe a city as prosperous and innovative as Seattle can do better than forcing adults to soil themselves. Other places provide safe and clean public restrooms, it’s not too much to expect them here too.

I ran the rough numbers based on publicly available data. This proposal is a subsidy to homeowners who statistically have the highest incomes in Seattle. That's not progressive taxation, and this will not solve actual problems or meet our most urgent needs.

I'm all for a city capital gains tax, but am not sure this is the right proposal. I'd be interested to see the breakdown of who will benefit the most from eliminating the tax on water. I would assume that businesses would benefit the most.

Pre-approved designs is a way to build housing faster, cheaper, and easier. I’ve proposed this for multiplexes in Seattle - we can partner with architects and community to create designs that reflect our history and culture. Housing can be affordable and beautiful.

If a RapidRide line costs $150+ million dollars and takes over a decade to deliver, we need to look at what happens when we spread that money out across the system and pay for queue jumps, transit lanes, and rechannelization literally everywhere buses are getting slowed down.

Something I think that's true when the majority of decisions around transit are made by electeds who don't use it: what leaders who do use transit say should carry more weight.

When we come together, lay out a clear vision, and fight for a fair deal, we win. We should expect delivery from City Hall, and that’s what you get with me. Impact and results. That’s why I’m running, and that’s what I’ll do as your Councilmember for D3.

Alex stood up to some of the most powerful interests in Seattle, and helped win $83 million investments in affordable housing, parks, & safe streets (4x more than they originally offered). Vote Alex for strong values, coalition building, policy savvy, & delivering for community!

It was a pleasure to sit with @RealChangeNews vendors and hear their priorities, experiences, and solutions for building a city where everyone has a safe, affordable place to sleep and is treated with dignity. Together, we can make those hopes a reality.

Yesterday, @AlexforSeattle came to our office to talk with vendors and staff. Vendors shared why providing services for vehicle residents, changing drug policy and housing affordability are so important to them. Thank you @AlexforSeattle for coming out!

D3 has some of the densest housing, jobs, and services in the state. We’ve done our part to build a sustainable city and need the transit access Midtown Station will provide. Eliminating it harms our neighborhoods and diminishes our potential.

Once again I implore local media to acknowledge that the N/S option for @soundtransit means eliminating Midtown Station. Midtown will have 15K+ daily riders, the 3rd highest in WSBLE. This is not a footnote - it's a catastrophe for hospital and office workers and residents.

I’ll be there. We have to stop the gun violence tearing at our community at endangering our children. It doesn’t have to be like this.

We have to raise $20K by the end of the month to ensure our progressive message isn’t drowned out by outside corporate funding pouring into our race. Democracy Vouchers keep us people powered and focused on issues. It’s easy, free, and not too late. 💚

“I’m thrilled to earn the sole endorsement of the 4,000 hardworking members of ATU 587. By keeping public transit moving, they make our economy possible, connect people to opportunity, and build a more sustainable world. It’s an honor to have their support. “

My transportation plan calls for the City to provide free transit to anyone in Seattle who lives car-free. Seattle already has a nation-leading program providing free transit to low-income residents, and we can build off this momentum to invest in people and the planet.

In the wake of the state Supreme Court ruling finding that the state’s capital gains tax is a legal excise tax, and with the City facing a revenue shortfall, I believe a municipal capital gains tax is a fair approach to addressing this funding gap. #alexhudsonforseattle

Too many people who qualify for benefits don't receive them. That's a problem government created - and can solve. On Council, I'll work to remove barriers and close that gap, reducing costs and helping our paychecks go further.

Nothing is quite as satisfying as rolling up your sleeves and doing the dirty work! Loved spending a beautiful #oneseattledayofservice making the Eastlake walking trail cleaner and removing invasive species. Seattleites are helpers, and it’s a beautiful thing.
