My pandemic fatigue has nothing to do with respirators or opening windows. I’m fatigued by suppression of evidence, efforts to highlight risk and mitigation to loved ones in the absence of govt transparency, watching people get sick, disabled, and die in gross numbers. Exhausted.

It is complicated to test positive for SARS-CoV-2, when you’ve been a noisy advocate for masking, IAQ, public health doing public health’s job. My husband and I have done pretty much everything we could; no indoor dining, masking with everyone who has adopted vax/relax.

Almost 3 weeks after getting Covid and I’m still super fatigued. Not tired - exhausted. I’ve had to move appointments so I only see two patients a day, and complete some admin work/supervision. If you’re self employed this is not tenable for multiple infections a year.

My mum has listened to my (sometimes inflamed) pleas to continue masking. And she had heeded the pleas. Yesterday she said she’s “wondering if we’re “ crazy”, as she sees no one else using this basic protection. But- she won’t take off her mask regardless. Proud of her.

Blaine - you want to show parents they count? Invest in their kids’ education by paying teachers their worth, and don’t cut EAs. Invest in mental health. Start building general peds practices that don’t take 12 months to get into. We certainly pay the taxes to fund these items.
