Sheboygan just launched a new ad campaign, branding their city the “Malibu of the Midwest.” I know this because I just saw the new commercial & spit out my coffee. A lovely town, but Malibu it is not.

@zach_shaw_ @Andrefor40th Unfortunately, @cta has its own governance structure & is not directly accountable to the City Council. That said, I plan to rally colleagues around cutting off CTA city subsidies until they find a competent manager to run the transit system. I’ve had enough.

I do love my friends at CTU, but we did not spend $1 billion on the Riverwalk - we spent a $100 million no interest federal loan that we are ahead of schedule retiring by using Riverwalk vendor revenues. The project is paying for itself - ahead of schedule - without interest.

My predecessor once proudly proclaimed that aldermen are the janitors of their wards. People chuckled at the time, but he was absolutely correct. As challenging as it is to maintain neighborhood infrastructure and keep it clean & safe: that is job #1 for aldermen.

THIS is the job of an alderman... essentially the neighborhood’s property manager. Not opining on matters in Gaza or burning the flag at protests. But improving life inside your ward. Credit where credit is due to Andre here.

Excellent use of our helicopter to fight carjacking. I want the city to invest in new, cheaper-to-maintain, helicopters for CPD. They’re the best weapon there is to attack record breaking, citywide carjackings. L.A. has a fleet of 17. NYC has 8. Chicago has 1 working, 1 broken.
