@reisnertobias @akashnet_ yes, cannot overstate the importance of model diversity-- this includes diversity of data, architecture, engineers... the free market should guide how we interact with AI, as it did for the internet. Akash & other permissionless compute marketplaces are critical to this

i've played around enough now with 1.58 bit LLMs to comfortably say if you aren't paying attention to them you really should be makes edge node inference pretty attainable

while i’m generally a verification minimalist when it comes to most of these things on chain (leave it up to the free market and workers will be incentivized to do whats right!) i don’t really see TEE as the option here for use cases with the most rigorous security requirements

alt-L1s could have fought off L2s by (correctly) pointing out the practical security properties today, ZK teams need to fight against the TEE narrative like their life depends on it. if TEEs are considered sufficiently secure then ZK won't be competitive on any dimension

this marketplace allows affordable access, and access at scale for parties that are otherwise out of luck. this is important for a lot of reasons -- eroding the moats held by the current model creators (openAI, Amazon, Google, Msoft) and, even more important, accelerating

the energy at ethDenver is pretty exciting. last year it felt tired. there was also major focus on rollups. now it feels super energized + tons of focus on dAI +depin seeing the passion by builders + people trying to solve problems is infectious.

I've said this before and will say it again - search is 100% under-explored rn - will probably come back in a major way (e.g. Q* from OpenAI is almost certainly related to RL-esk Search algorithms + A* Search algorithms)
