Heartwarming conversation this week with someone who doesn't realise how great she is: a silent leader (she didnt see she was a leader) with sincere integrity: a role model who not only educates but willing to be educated: loud doesn't mean best

25 years clinical: last 3 operational/corporate: I understand it's hard 2 know what 'we' do (I was one of those nurses that asked what 'they' did) I cannot express my pride & admiration of all

The impact of not showing compassion to your team is so powerful it ripples through every part of a their life: right through to home and family. Be Responsible as a leader:

‘Why is compassion still considered ‘soft’ in leadership and management circles, when in practice being a compassionate leader requires guts and tenacity to do the right thing every day?’ writes
@bailey_suzie
Every year on this day I always toast this amazing nurse: he was my band 6: my right arm when I was ward 5 sister: we achieved so much 2gether & he took a little piece of my ❤

I am struggling to be sympathetic on this !!!!
No one covered my childcare costs when 2 hours late off a shift or when had to pick up additional weekend shift bcus of short staffing. The absolute audacity of this MP ....or have I missed something ? 🙄
Emotional attachment to a professional group; desire to remain altruistic and sense of poacher turned gamekeeper. It can feel isolating when used to being part of a 'tribe'. Transition from nurse leader to operational manager challenging
Evidence shows that nurses are reluctant to become managers. Why is that? And is there something that can be done to facilitate managerial careers for nursing? This recent article explores this topic. Learn more

Simplifying 'washing' a patient says it all..whilst providing support to a pt with hygiene needs we are rehabing, enabling, assessing physical health, skin integrity, mood..shall I go on ?? I wasn't a graduate nurse but let's not oversimplify care & nursing
Compassionate leadership means creating the conditions – through consistently listening, understanding, empathising and helping – to make it possible to have tough performance management and tough conversations when needed
