Girl dad. Doggie lover. Back to back World Series of Poker winner. Former co-host of Professional Poker Tour. Aggressive attorney turned timid poker player
This fucking guy is tanking for 1-2 minutes PRE-FLOP every fucking hand since we’ve been 80 players from the money in the WSOP $800 buy in Independence Day tournament! 🤬🤬🤬
@JonShoreman
The players at the table did call the floor and he was put on a clock. Apparently, the clock goes from 25 seconds, to 20 seconds and then 15 and finally 10 seconds preflop
@J9newsfeed
Yes, all staff should be vaccinated. Look into the data of who is being hospitalized and dying from covid currently. 94-97% are not vaccinated.
HUGE controversy. Lost 3 million and my hand was declared dead and given a one round penalty. I’m beyond livid but will control just emotions so I can close this thing out hopefully. Goofy guy at my table has 8 million now. I’ll post details later.
Hall of fame nominations this year include two players,
@pokerkat
and
@MiamiJohnC
, that I’ve known for close to 30 years and are great players and quality people.
@AllenKessler
@AllenKessler
definitely made the right call given his hand and the pot odds along with him suspecting strongly that I was on a flush draw given my large sized bet. We were nearly 50/50. He was just unlucky. If he wins that hand he has a decent stack. I would have done the same
@AllenKessler
I agree what he did was shitty and you were justified in calling the floor and having his hand declared dead, but I’m not sure it qualifies as an angle.
Here we go in the $5,000 buy-in High Roller Seniors event. Almost 500 players are registered. I’ve taken the last couple days off and just played in one online bracelet event yesterday. Feeling good and ready to go.
In the hunt for number three at the Venetian DeepStacks. Sitting in 8th place currently after Day 1A and Day 1B combined. Sunday at 11 am, Day 2 starts.
@hpoker
As you point out, some will not attend bc of requirement, but some will that otherwise wouldn’t have attended bc they know they will be around and among vaccinated people
@Kenna_James
I understand but it sure doesn’t seem like the best strategy to give yourself a chance to win. I mean can you make SOME money this way? Maybe, but who cares about a stupid min cash? I’m pretty sure you’re like me and always play for first place
@ValueBettingML
@bankrollme87
Ok. Well, I took 12 years off from tournaments and I have over $3 million in online earnings so…. And, what does that have to do with this shitty behavior. You’re just another keyboard warrior living in your basement probably
Happy birthday
@Kristen_Poker
and RIP Mirage! I have very fond memories of the first and one of the most iconic mega resorts in Las Vegas. It was definitely a game changer and showed what incredible vision Steve Wynn had. Ironically, he is legally blind now.
@kadie1414
@ThomasBilello1
@Millsyyyy
It did but now knowing he’s an accomplished player, I would he had higher aspirations than to just min cash a small buy in event like this.
@MiamiJohnC
Agreed! Good luck to you too Miami John and I truly hope your lifetime of work in poker as the player with THE MOST CASHES EVER is recognized by the hall of fame voters.
Here's a podcast interview I recently did with the syndicated Bernard Lee Poker Show. We talked about my recent back to back wins at the Venetian DeepStacks tournament as well as my back to back wins at the WSOP 16 years ago. Lots of strategy talk.
@barnyboatman
@pokerorg
That’s exactly what I asked for. I said the look at the size of this pot and ask the other players how long it’s been. I was told, “I don’t have to ask the other players” and he never analyzed situation. But to his credit, he did summon another floor who came in yelling/flailing
@ClownXXL
He didn’t get that low but a player at the table next to mine was doing the same thing and got to that point where they would only give him 10 seconds to act
@tyree1334
That’s a tricky question. You are allowed a reasonable amount of time after which you will be put on a clock if any player requests it. If the floor determines you are tanking to stall to get into the money you can be put on a progressively shorter clock then penalized further
@Balloo711
He was tanking for the money for sure and the table was pretty easy going for much of it but it got to be ridiculous. He literally tanked until time was called on him no matter how long it was and all this was preflop
@f1peter27
@UrzasMeine
@LahtiWilliam
I understand your point but it does feel unethical at a minimum and runs afoul of the spirit of the rules. Think about the short stack players that ARE playing and get busted short of the money bc of this.
@ChancesCards
The WPT Venetian “money bubble” was excruciating yesterday bc the Euro tanking (for a lot lot longer than 10 seconds) preflop by three guys at my table started when we were 15 players from the money. FFS man. It definitely tilted me a little bit.
@BillKrackman
I have found tickets that were 10-11 months old on at least two occasions (valued at about $200 and $550) and both times the casinos honored them without hesitation. 30 days seems shady.
@GreasioJason
I started the hand with approximately 6 million, maybe just under. My opponent had about 5.2 million. I three bet preflop to 1.2 million and c bet for 1 million when he jammed. Hand was declared dead then I was given a penalty that cost me additional chips. Probably wasn’t 3 mil
@SeanGar20232181
@DbScooper6
Yes and no. The floor became aware of the situation and was “monitoring” our table closely. And, it worked. He started folding before they came.
@Kristen_Poker
@NikkiLimo
@SteveGreeneCOM
Of course, you can always get more next time. But, that’s not really the issue. The issue is you can never have too much, and sometimes there are extenuating circumstances. There ARE going to be times when you’re going to want the sauce but haven’t gone to Taco Bell/Chick Fil A.
@quitti33
@Nick_Palma1010
I didn’t know him but others have since told me. So, if he’s had good results why not play instead tank 9 tables away from a min cash of only $1600?
