This is an hour and a half from my home town of San Antonio. We have great hospitals there, military hospitals excellent at dealing with trauma that comes violence. They'll be ready to deal with the 7 year olds being sent there.

I miss the casual intimacy of the Before Times. Zoom has reduced every interaction to be streamlined, scheduled, and efficient. There's no wasting time together, no casual laughing or eye-contact, no hugs or fist bumps. Like there's not even smiles and waves across the hall.

Last day of this Thanksgiving holiday, then 4 weeks until the Winter Break. Gonna get some writing done! To do this, I will: -Block the time on my calendar and PROTECT it; -Write at least 30 min/day; -Do at least 2, 3-hour writing blocks a week. Who else is with me?

Spent the morning addressing student emails about death, caregiving, & COVID. In a class of 200, you see a lot. If you don't see the student who lost their mother, or moved mid-term to care for a sibling, or is giving birth in a pandemic, they are out there. Plz grade like it
