📚✒️ Language Resource ✒️📚
A 24 page Language Paper 1 revision booklet. 3 extracts and 3 opportunities to complete each question. It could be good for an 'I do, We do, You do' approach. This is tailored to my Y10s but the link is below if it's helpful ⬇️
I used tracing paper today to encourage students to look at a poem through two different perspectives. We chose the exact same quotations each time but saw them through different lenses. It worked a treat!
📚 Two revision tables for A Christmas Carol and Macbeth. Revision through thinking skills. Power and Conflict and An Inspector Calls are in progress! 📚

6 or more attempts for each question! I plan on treating this as a planning booklet - if this was on your exam paper, what would you do? And encourage students to complete tasks.

🕵️♂️📞AN INSPECTOR CALLS 🕵️♂️📞
An 11 page PDF of essay plans for key characters and themes. My students have these glued in on the left hand side of the books and then on the right hand side they make notes, zoom in and analyse.
Preparing for Y11 🧵- As well as being a teacher, I am a carer for my little girl, prep is key for me!
I have prepared a homework booklet for the students for Sep-Dec. It covers ACC, Macbeth, Poetry and Lang P1 and 2 (we are yet to teach AIC 😱)

A feedback sheet for ACC: impact of the ghosts on Scrooge's behaviour and attitudes. One also for Macbeth: Macbeth and Banquo's attitudes towards the supernatural. Slightly different approaches for each, due to the overall need of the class. Link below ⬇️
🎄A Christmas Carol - Quotation Chains 🎄
🕯️Helping students to see patterns and motifs within the novella.
🕯️Great for asking students to create their own exam questions at the end of each chain.
If it's helpful:
AQA English Literature Quotation Booklet: AIC, P&C, Macbeth and ACC.
I've created this as a springboard for my Y11s. It'll act as their 'go to' doc for quotations. It's not exhaustive and they can add their own choices as they go.
If it's helpful:
A little 'solitary as an oyster' worksheet. I'm hoping to build on previous redemption lessons, and look at how Scrooge's outer layer breaks away as the novella progresses. Students may then be able to comment structurally as well as linguistically 🤞

🗡️A key quotation from each scene in Macbeth 📷I am hoping that it sparks knowledge of key events, additional quotations and comments on Shakespeare's methods and purpose. If it is of any use to you:

📚 ACC Essay Question 📚
It blew my student's minds when I told them that AQA choose an extract because it's an important moment, it's not random! This sheet encourages students to structurally determine what the impact of the extract is on big ideas and themes.

Feel free to use as a bit of last minute revision😀
AIC Context Note Taking Sheet. Covers all of the major social and political unrest, anything else will be added to these moments through discussion. A live document, stuck across 2 pages, where students can annotate each event with a moment where it is echoed in the play.

A little retrieval that really helped Y10 to track Lady Macbeth today. Students were expected to detail: what the moment was, a quotation, the purpose and where we can see this moment or something similar elsewhere.
The PDF includes her other appearances in the play too.
exactly that was the injustice or the inequality, was it an economic? a social? a political? And very few commented on the consequence of such behaviour.
If it's helpful to you, here are the 'reteach' resources I plan on using this week with them 😀
🌟 Beginning, Middle and End 🌟
A booklet that includes all of the first and last lines that a character says, is described as or in a poem.
The 'middle' has been left blank so that students can make their their own lines of argument!

A conscious decision that you made to humiliate Autistic children: 'If I set them a task, they will stick at it, not deviating, for hours, and never ask why. This is fun.' An appalling abuse of your position as a teacher. Instead of compassion and accessibility, they are mocked.

📞🕵️♂️An Inspector Calls: Gender Inequality/Eva & injustice 📞🕵️♂️
My Year 11s sat a mock on Friday for the two focuses above. What I noticed was a huge amount of them recognised there was an inequality or that there was an injustice but not being very specific with what it was (1)
