Resource to help GCSE pupils to develop their analysis. Can be glued into books or used as a poster! I find that considering the ‘depth’ of layers helps my pupils to think about a quotation in detail rather than making a superficial comment and then moving on. Download link👇

I think it’s so important to give pupils time to think about a literature text and be confident in forming their own opinions - so I love including lots of ‘how do you respond’ tasks. These kind of tasks really allow pupils to think about what they know, what they think and why.

Embedding ‘I do, We do, You do’ into my ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ SoW. Including lots of scaffolding at the start of the unit that will then be gradually removed as confidence grows ☺️ I also love using the imagery chain task to support the understanding of figurative language

Do you use checkpoints in your teaching? I’m using these checkpoints in my #streetcar scheme of work to keep pupils focused on recurring methods. I find them a quick and easy way of prompting pupils to consider their effect throughout teaching. #cie #igcse

Resource to help GCSE pupils to develop their analysis. Can be glued into books or used as a poster! I find that considering the ‘depth’ of layers helps my pupils to think about a quotation in detail rather than making a superficial comment and then moving on. Download link👇
