I’ll be attending the S*ean F*ucht “worship event” tonight here in Spokane and live tweeting what I experience.
I won’t be participating in any sort of public protest, but simply recounting what happens when fascists and white Christian Nationalists gather.
Tune in below.
🧵
"To me, this is indicative of a culture of people who are late to the game and don't know which stage of advocacy we're actually in."
-
@Imani_Barbarin
Probably around 500 people here so far.
Other than Let Us Worship Merch, the first thing you see is a
@TPUSA
booth recruiting young Christian Nationalists to the GOP.
But
@MayorSpokane
, you stood on stage, hugged, & received the public blessing of an outspoken white Christian Nationalist at and event whose stated purpose was for the “Church to rise up with one voice & tell our government leaders and the rulers…that we refuse to be silenced.”
@TPUSA
@MayorSpokane
“I grew up coming to Spokane and I don’t remember it being like this. The crime. The drugs. The darkness.
But that changes tonight.
Update on the kid who came out to me a few months ago:
BIG news. At lunch this past week, he walked up to the boy he's had a crush on for a while and officially asked him out. His crush said yes!
They are getting ice cream next week 😭🥰♥️
The many faces of
@robertjmonson
. My brother, mentor, pastor, and friend.
Throwback to a few days spent in California laughing, talking, dreaming, weeping, drinking, and eating together.
Love you, bro!
This just keeps getting more wild. Confirmed that
@jessicaforwa
, the president of the Spokane chapter for the SPLC confirmed extremist group “Moms for Liberty” and candidate for Spokane Valley City Council, was one of the people on stage with
@MayorSpokane
this weekend.
UPDATE:
@jessicaforwa
, local candidate and chair of the Spokane chapter of Moms for Liberty, labeled an "extremist" group by Southern Poverty Law Center, was also onstage with
@MayorSpokane
and Matt Shea at Sunday night's "Let Us Worship" event.
Baldwin coming through AGAIN with the prophetic word. In one sentence, Baldwin completely dismantles the white evangelical call for “peace, unity, and love.”
There can be no peace or unity without justice, accountability, repentance, and reparations.
For those curious about the dangerous Christofascist ideology of Matt Shea, the pastor who
@MayorSpokane
aligned herself with & received public prayer and endorsement from this past weekend, this was taken from a sermon Shea preached on the morning of the Let Us Worship event.
Some more great reporting on the events of the last few days here in Spokane by
@vestal13
.
Really glad I got a chance to talk with Shawn about my experience at the event and hear his take.
Keep the pressure on, everyone!
What happens when you combine a Christian nationalist musician and a disgraced former state representative-turned-pastor accused of domestic terrorism?
A recipe for “bigotry” cloaked “in religious language.”
I am so very regretful of the time
I spent in community with people
who built piety off of hatred
— I have seen their hearts
I don't believe the flames of hell
are hot enough to sanitize them
of their many sins.
not everyone is worth saving.

I can't tell you how excited I am for upcoming book releasing from both
@hellocamilleh
and
@JoLuehmann
.
Both of these books are going to be INCREDIBLE. Literally can't wait.

Dude you are out of bounds on this. Clearly Jo has communicated that this video/podcast appearance, especially with this clickbait title, crossed a line and she’s not comfortable with it.
You gotta take this down and apologize for your manipulation and dishonesty.
My friend
@lukebaumgarten
at
@RANGEMedia4all
is doing some INCREDIBLE reporting on this ongoing story.
Cannot recommend Luke and Range Media enough. Be sure to follow Luke and Range to stay up to date on everything!
“I want you to go preach everywhere. Young people, go and get on the tables at Starbucks and take over Spokane for Jesus. Just go take this city over.”
@TPUSA
@MayorSpokane
“Let’s begin right now to just ask God for another installment of fire. Another installment of a rushing wind that sweeps through this city and destroys every idol.”
While I was on stage I prayed that God’s righteousness would spread in our city faster than a fire spreads through the forest. Marxist journalist
@josephdpeterson
intentionally misrepresented a line of my minute-long prayer to stoke violence against Spokane’s Christian community.
“Young people… Your cell phone can be the biggest weapon of the enemy. There are encounters you’re missing out on because you’re staying up all night looking at things you shouldn’t.”
Hey friends!
I’m a graphic designer, podcast producer, and creative director who is looking for some freelance projects! If you know someone who is looking to hire someone in any of those areas, let me know!
“There is a spirit of Jezebel among our young men looking at porn and our young women dressing immodestly.
On the count of three, I’m going to call on the young people to bow down and watch the blood of Jesus wash you clean.”
Prepping for another year of Youth Ministry.
These 4 books have been SO formative for me as I continue to lead our young people.
Beyond thankful for
@WilGafney
,
@RadicalBodyLove
,
@kat_armas
, and
@ChineMcDonald
! These books will shape our learning for years to come!
I'm learning that the future of the church will be less "money to the cause" and more "mutual aid for the community."
I am deeply invested in building a way forward where an anti-capitalist and collaborative ethic of mutual aid drives the culture of our communities.

@Josephdpeterson
Saying the Mayor aligned herself with Shea, puts you on the same level of Shea when it comes to untruths. How do I know. She wouldn’t have my endorsement if she accepted Shea’s or was aligned with him.
“My guitar got stolen last time I was in Spokane, but praise be to God we’ve found the addict who stole my guitar and are restoring him fully tonight.”
We are blind and have not seen the Scripture—we have not seen Jesus—until we have seen him through a Brown woman’s eyes. What she sees changes everything.

If anyone is looking for a great podcast about faith, politics, and culture, I host one called The Ruins!
We’ve talked about fascism, Christian Nationalism, conservative white evangelicalism, and more.
Check it out!

“There is merch in the lobby. These shirts are like bullet proof vests. When someone sees a “Let Us Worship” they know you a serious about being a warrior for God.”
Had an incredible conversation with Rev. June Joplin (
@jrjoplin
) about her coming out story, pastoral ministry, patriarchy, and how the church can do better. Such an important convo for all of us! Thanks so much, June!
Listen wherever you get podcasts.
They're coming again... This is dangerous to the safety, flourishing, and well-being of Spokane.
@SpokaneCity
why are we continuing to platform
@seanfeucht
and his community of fascists and Christian Nationalists who threaten violence and harm to members of our community?
On Sunday, the singer, pastor and once-aspiring politician Sean Feucht will be putting on a show in the Spokane Pavilion. There, he'll be buoyed by local allies and politicians-turned-religious leaders Matt Shea and Caleb Collier.
Yesterday, me and the lil’ homie skipped school and hung out all day. Tried on cool shoes, ate McDonalds, ran errands, and went window shopping at the toy store.
Treasuring these days…
My wife Nicole is currently helping her parents deconstruct from their abusive, oppressive, misogynistic, white supremacist church and faith, and I literally couldn't be more proud.
They are starting to GET IT and I'm so proud.
Holy Spirit is doin' her thing tonight.

These books are shifting the entire culture of my faith and spirituality. So beyond grateful!
@c_m_crawford
That’s totally fine. I don’t really care if the resurrection was literal or not and even if it wasn’t, I’m too lazy to be something other than a Christian at this point lol
I'm back in PDX working at this 24 hour Denny's and let me tell you... There's something so beautiful about being in an environment of the people where everyone is just fully themselves.
Skaters, substance users, nurses, all together.
I miss writing sermons in places like this.
I’m planning to do a God + Sex series for our Youth in February 2022.
Who wants to talk with me about it?
Looking for queer/trans affirming people to chat about sex positivity, goodness of bodies, the Bible’s depictions of marriage/sex, LGBTQ+ inclusion, dating, etc.
Anyone?
“God is shining a light on the horrors of child sex-trafficking. But through my ministry, Light A Candle, we’ve been able to rescue 13,000 children out of child sex trafficking and temple prostitution.“
Made a really hard decision today that I didn't want to make but knew it was best for me. Honestly really proud of myself and how I handled the situation.
I'm growing and I love that about me.
Today was my official last day at church. Got some healing to do...
Today, I'm thinking back to when the elders asked me to stop using words like "white supremacy, patriarchy, misogyny, & homophobia" in my sermons because it's "causing division and making people uncomfortable."
@TPUSA
@MayorSpokane
“My favorite part of 2020, 2021, 2022 was when we went out and worshipped God. We have to stop being scared and timid Christians.”
@TPUSA
@MayorSpokane
“What they’re trying to do to our children. And our country. And the amount of people losing their integrity. God is raising up a generation who are hungry for God. The only hope for our city and nation is a move of God.”
“Fear is spreading all over and this is our city. We can’t let it get destroyed. We need to worship. These are the moments that test the faith of our song.”
The following is a nowhere-near-exuastive list of some of the absolutely incredible women I've been learning SO much from recently. I can't even begin to explain how deeply these women have impacted my life/ministry. Be sure to follow them all!

Parent Fail:
Yesterday, Haddon knocked over my coffee on accident and it stained the carpet. I waaaay overreacted and he went upstairs crying. 10 minutes later he came back down with this drawing.
He’s quick to forgive but damn… Not my best moment 😔

SUCH an incredible week with
@bbyzillennial
. Thanks for all the chats, wisdom, hangs, hikes, and time with the whole crew. Can’t wait for next time! We love youuuu!
@RepMattShea
placed a hand on her shoulder in prayer onstage.
“I am deeply disturbed that Matt Shea chose to politicize a gathering of thousands … to pray for fire victims & first responders. I attended … with one purpose … to join with fellow citizens to begin the healing.”
@Grace_Unscriptd
While Roys has done good work chronicling abuse in the church, she is also very publicly anti-LGBTQ+ and has written transphobic material in the past.
So handle her work with that in mind.
"What are your songs when Black bodies cover the streets, wage gaps based on gender/race are celebrated, and hate is on the rise? Whether in the church house or in the white house…revival seems to be missing."

Yesterday, my therapist told me I need to spend more time focusing on the good I bring to the table and celebrate the positive ways I show up in the world instead of always trying to “fix” myself.
Phewwwwwww. I needed to hear that.
